ok so I found the drawing set, see where I hook up power, speaker and volume control and header J3 has 7 pins controlling selection, my question is where do I get the proper values for these pins for each sound effect to test if there's any logic problems (on 6821 (or 4050/4068/4069))

(my current issue is after replacing a dead ROM board the game plays the wrong sound effects, they are Joust sounds but they occur for the wrong event, if anyone has any other troubleshooting ideas to figure out if it's ROM board or sound board let me know)

TCinTexas recently had this, and it wound up being the 6821 PIA on the rom board causing the wrong sounds. you can verify you have sound output by grounding each of the wires on the green harness running to the rom board. if any of them don't play a sound, then verify the wiring/solder is good. if those check out, then suspect a PIA issue.

I've never had to diagnose one of these like that myself, I'm just going based on the various intelligence that's out there.

just to add the solution to this one to board history: turned out to be the cable between the ROM and Sound board, or the pins on the header they attach to or something in that pathway.
