Bottom chewed up had to be replaced from years of twisting on concrete and a little water damage.

My often malfunctioning joust cabinet approves of your joust cabinet, and is now slightly embarassed about its own distressed bottom bits.

If only someone would repair them like that local to me.

I was on the fence about patching or repair, repaint and restencil.
Well I'm not going to part with it, so here we go.

This is a slow moving project

Work and weather is getting in the way, but it is moving.

My joust cab restore is even slower than that! Looking good. Farthest I have got is the strip down and partial sand. Rebuilding the bottom went on hold 6 months ago.

Keep it up! Can't wait to see the stenciling...

I sprayed it with latex paint and hated it. Sanded it back down and went to SWP and got them to mix some oil base paint brown. Thanks to JoeyCuda for the codes. . The oil paint looks and feels a million times better than latex paint. Stencils supposed to arrive today.

care to share the paint codes?

I just picked up a williams cabinet about 2 weeks ago and it will be a joust project in the spring

Sure,
Will be happy to. I'm working now, but
I will send them as soon as I can. They are Sherwin Williams codes.

I used off the shelf colors from Sherwin-Williams and Rustoleum on mine. They were pretty close for not being custom matched and mixed:

The problem with matching Williams colors comes from the fact that they used a factory clear coat over the stenciling which has yellowed over time, giving the cab a patina that makes the colors look warmer:

It looks great whatever you used. Not sure how joeycuda came up with the colors he used, but the Joust he restored looks awesome. It sux having to buy a whole quart to spray the stencils, because it's not going to take very much.
What colors did you use in rattle cans?

I still have the cans at home I'll try to find them and see.
