I'm making a multi-Williams out of an old Joust cab (that was an Ameridarts when I got it), and in running the power to the light fixture, I can't tell which wires on the light fixture are hot and neutral. I can put up a better picture later, but for now, here's a pic from Bob Roberts site that looks like the Joust fixture...

Thanks Frizz, but what's confusing me is that both wires going to the fixture molex are black (far left part of the picture).

Can you trace 'em back to the power base at the bottom of the cab and see if either one started white at some point?

Will getting a multimeter read on AC wires behave the same as DC, in that if you have them crossed, the voltage will appear negative?

yea but if you look at your picture you can see the bottom wire is black and the top one which goes though the starter is white.
so the left most wire in the molex is white
the right one in the molex is black

It really doesnt matter - especially if its being fed from an isolation transformer.

But even if it wasnt, it still doesnt matter!

This was just covered in another thread, and the conclusion is.... It doesn't matter. Hey wait, didn't A2K just say that it doesn't matter?:D
