Joust crashing issue immediately after All Systems Go

Hi,
I have a joust board that shows the rug pattern, says all systems go and then starts displaying the high score board and then goes blank. I've restarted it dozens of times with and without a battery in it, I've replaced the 5514 SRAM, I tried hitting manual-advance-high score reset buttons inside coin doors to get it to drop to diagnostics mode but all for naught so far.

Any ideas what else I should look at? I think RAM and ROM issues are out since I get all systems go?

And just to mention it: The power supply was rebuilt about 9 months ago, and the voltages are ok coming off PS.

checks

Did you check the voltages on the game PCB or only from the PS?
If you have voltage drop happening on the PCBs you may want to replace the connectors and pins on the PCB side.

Game crashing after all system go...

- Bad 6809E CPU
- Bad Special Chip

These are the two that I've seen cause this issue.

Try replacing the CPU first. A bad SC will typically cause graphical issues and then a crash. If the game goes from All Systems Go back to the rug, then I would blame the CPU.

Wiggle your ribbon cables. Mine would go from all systems go to rug pattern. Ribbon cable was iffy
