I did a test on how Defender or Stargate would feel on my Joust CP. Turns out, the reverse (or the 1p flap button on Joust) is too far away from the 1p joystick. I have to reach pretty far with my thumb.

Is it possible to connect 2 buttons next to the 1p joystick with the same function? Therefore, if you hit either button, the result would be "flap" on Joust or "reverse" on Defender/Stargate.

I attached is my crappy cp again that I keep posting with ?s. I drew red circles where I think the buttons should go. I enlarged the middle hole to 1.125" so it's the place of the hyperspace button. I don't mind that button there.

I also included jrok's sample cp layout.

I don't think it's an option to move the 1p joystick or flap button since I will be buying the repro Joust cp overlay. I would like the overlay to match up with the joust contols to give a "stealth" look.

If you are going for the stealth Joust look, you need to try to get a hold of this:

Maybe you could get the file and put the flap button a little closer on the left side.

yep, saw this post and the results are awesome. i didn't know if i wanted to screw around with the file and find someone to print it....

i would think the easiest route is to add a extra button with the same function. is this possible?

I have to change my mind on this one. All the buttons will cover up a lot of the graphics on the original CPO. Therefore, I'll be moving the 1p flap button closter to the 1p joystick and moving the graphics around.

I'll have to adjust the CPO file and have it printed somewhere.

Where is the best place for a custom cpo? mame marquees?

I have one, I was going to use it, but I jroked my Defender instead:)
