What's it look like? What's it made from? I have the bezel around the screen, but no underlay. Is it just a flat piece of plastic or paper, all black?

A photo without the glass would be awesome.

Hmm. I thought it was black screened onto the backside of the glass, with cutouts for the monitor and the instruction cards. Not really in a position to take mine apart at the moment to check, and it's not obvious from the top...

I did not consider that it could be screened. That would make it a little more difficult to replace the glass.

But not impossible. Defender cocktails had the glass screened that way, and a local guy I did some repair for had a glass shop make him a new piece of tempered glass, then had a screen-printing shop do the printing of the black. it looked really sharp when it was done. I have the old Defender glass top here in the garage...

It's black plastic has a texture to it like the leather T molding, not much to it.

Ah, that's good news. Is it cut out for the instruction cards, or do they just sit between the underlay and the glass?
