Joust and robotron

i converted stargate to robotron. fill in the holes, get a new overlay, and make new holes that line up with the overlay.

A few places make control panels for multiwilliams etc..

why hack up a real one when you can just get a new replacement and drop it in.

I have been looking for one,
no one has offered. Don't want a multiwilliams but if someone wants to trade for a joust
I am up for that.
If someone tell me where to get a replacement Robotron control panel I would be up for that to.
Thanks

I haven't used one, but Arcadeshop sells this:

http://arcadeshop.com/pics/multi-williams-panel.jpg

It is an undrilled metal panel.

There are only so many uncut original Williams panels.... if you really want a wood one, till someone makes a repro, list a long standing trade that you bump up periodically on the forums.

Robotron panels pop up, but not often.

If I were doing this, I'd go with a repro (steel or wood (once (and if) someone makes them)) vs cutting up an original.

In the end, it is your game though.

Another advantage of going with the metal repro panel from Arcadeshop is that you can use the more common 3-1/2" Wico joysticks. If you use the 4" Wico's in the metal repro panel, they will be too tall.

If you want a excellent wood repro pre-drilled for Robotron, they are available - but not cheap! ..but, here is the guy who makes them: [email protected]
You still need to supply the 4" joysticks and dust washers, the aluminum dust washer cover (sold here by another KLOV user) and the overlay itself - (best repro at Phoenix Arcade)

Hello
Has anyone converted a joust control panel to a robotron control panel
Thanks

Quite dissimilar and you are going to get into a lot more of a headache in the transition work than you may realize.

the metal replacement sounds like the best option. there isn't much need for 4inch wicos unless you are using an original robo panel with the metal plate inserts.
3.5s are great with a repop panel as stated above.
more than the handle height, the greatest thing you can do is get the fleetwood repop grommets for wicos
