This rocks!

"Star Case that was previously owned by the band Journey. Measures 6 feet 3 1/2 inches tall x 3 feet 2 inches. It was used to keep a video game backstage that traveled with them in the 80's. The game is in my arcade room and I don't have room to store the case anymore. This type of case is usually used as a wardrobe case by touring bands and is a piece of Rock and Roll History. It was sold through Backstage Auctions when Journeys former manager Herbie Herbert sold many items. I do have the certificate of authenticity stored somewhere..It's the real deal and very cool..again I just don't have room for it anymore. Will need to be picked up by purchaser in Redding, Ca."

I asked the guy what game was traveling with them. He said it's a Defender. :(

to be fair Defender is a better game than Journey and it would be a bit narcissistic to have had the game with ones own music and likeness with them everywhere they went.

Agreed. But...I would expect them to be rather narcissistic. And it sure would have been cool to have the game and the storage container together. Oh well. Although, if they traveled with one game they may have traveled with more!

I have sold a couple games to this guy and he is a great guy and it seems to be the real deal. It was in his garage when I saw it.

Yes, he said he has the game that came with it but he doesn't like playing it in the case because it raises it up too high. He wants to keep the game but sell the box. Seems like they should stay together though.

Now this is just fuckin tooo cool. I should buy it and put my Journey machine in it!! WOW!!

Can you post a picture of the certificate???

You will have to contact the owner for that. He responded to my e-mail pretty quickly.

The game and the case should be in the rock & roll hall of fame in my opinion.

Nah. If the Hall of Fame took every piece of memorabilia from rock lore - especially ones this big - there'd be no room to walk in there.
