A few weeks back I found a Journey cabinet quite close to me -- it was clearly converted into a 'Mat Mania Challenge" game, and then later converted again into "A-jax" which it currently is. The Op just took the 'Mat Mania Challenge' bezel and flipped it over, what a cheapskate!
I was specifically looking to trade this for a Midway cab that shares the same cab design - Bump n' Jump, Blueprint, Lazerian, Domino Man, etc for a conversion project. However, now that I have this I realize that the angle of the screen is wrong -- the angle of the screen on the Journey cab is too vertical. I need one more like Bump n' Jump or Blueprint, where the screen is at a 45-degree angle or lying flat. I'm willing to trade this cab for another midway cab of the same basic design -- BUT ONLY IF THE GAME HAS ALREADY BEEN CONVERTED. I'm going to use it on a conversion project, but I'm not willing to mess up a dedicated game to do so.
So here's some more on this cab: Serial number 358-00501. It is in great structural shape, with no obvious damage from water or bashed corners. I believe it still has the original Journey power supply (see photos), the mount for the tape deck, and even the piece of paper stapled inside that you could remove and send to Midway for a new tape (just try it now!). The CP has been heavily converted for 2 sticks. Gone is all the other Journey stuff, art, PCB, tape deck, bezel, and so on. This is just a nice original cab, with original paint, t-molding, and interior fixtures. This is a great candidate for a restoration.
