Journey cab dressed as a Ninja in PA...

I hope whoever did the coversion back in the day..was lazy and left some Journey parts in it.

One can only hope... its kinda fun anticipating what might be in the cab...until it gets here. lol

To get up and running quickly, I would put a name setup in it while you locate parts to restore.

Bezel will be a tough one and of course the boards, cassette player, wiring and other internals

sent from my phone on Tappatalk

Nah.. I'll just get the Ninja Gaiden running.. then remove it once I get the parts for Journey.

Yeah, but looking at it, it's the original CP. You're going to have to fill in some holes (I would get pieces of sheet metal and epoxy it on the back side and then Bondo it from the front), but at least you've got the original to work with and nobody altered the wood frame holding the CP to make another one fit.

I think I would rather look for a metal fabrication shop that could fill in the holes properly. That might be overkill..but I don't think it would cost that much.

Www.thisoldgame.com for side art
Www.gamestencils.com for CPO
Www.gameongrafix.com for marquee (really the only option out there).

I have one of those marquees that I replaced with a slightly better repro marquee. I'd let it go for maybe $5 in addition to shipping if you're interested. You'll still need to get 2 pieces of plexi to sandwich it between. Rich at thisoldgame has mentioned that he might try ink jetting on the back of glass for some small projects (like a Journey marquee). It won't be as good as screen printing, but it'll be better than the other repros out there.

You'll also probably want to get one of arcadeshop's switcher and adapters for the power supply...but I'd wait to see what you get in the cab first.

yeah..now that I've paid for the cab..its like I'm a kid wating on Christmas to get here. It doesn't even matter that the game was converted. I now own a Journey cab....even if its a resto project. LOL

Damn rain!!!!

Well I sent an e-mail asking when it would be shipped since PayPal went thru yesterday finally. They were nice enough to call me instead of just e-mailing me back. Basically the rain has turned their shop into an island and trucks can't get in. So I will have to wait for the waters to receed before it will ship out. On a positive note...YES it is a Journey!!!!! They confrmed that on the phone. Also I cannot say enough good things about GamingGraphics. They have been a pleasure to deal with.

When I was putting together my Journey I used a Tron wire harness and modifed it which took very little work. I had mine up and playing. But sadly I sold it and my Root Beer Tapper. Good Luck.

Journey drowned in PA flood

Well.. the Journey did not escape the PA floods. The sellers inspected it and 26" of the bottom is water damaged. They offered a refund and I accepted. Its a shame this cab could not be saved.

I'm just not into wood repair for water damaged cabs .. especially if its over 2 feet worth of damage.

wow that sucks ass. but maybe it was meant to be...sometimes restoring can cost moe than waiting and finding a working 1...
