I've got a beautiful restored one that's about 3 weeks from being scrapped if anyone's interested in parts. NOS bezel, beautiful marquee, virtually brand new GO7 and everything powder coated, polished, painted or new. This is the last game coming out of my collection and it's gonna leave in pieces or whole, I honestly don't care
Glad you sold it. If you hadn't though, I would have suggested listing it in VAPS, and if you were going to part it out, pointed you towards the 'Last Call' thread.
I think his starting bid is to high he has already scared every one off. He should have started it at $900 and it might get up that high.
It's only a question of odds. Low enough and it has a 100% chance of selling. Higher, less of a chance.
Stepping up sometimes has surprised people and has helped me assemble a collection I'm quite proud of. There are times both I and the seller think I'm likely the only one in the world willing to pay X for something. I'm happy to do so. I'm (obviously) not alone in this either. [I don't think this Journey is an example of 'only 1 buyer at this price' though.].
Sometimes that is what it takes...
Looks like the Journey finally sold for $1500
Dam I need to list mine on ebay.. Mine actually works
You guys really crack me up... I bought it. $1500 is well worth not wasting my time looking for it anymore. We can fix it in ten minutes.
And now everyone is shocked that it sold.
There are a couple dozen machines I'd be willing to pay well above what the consensus hear would think they were worth. Stepping up is one of the reasons I (and Van and others) have had good luck in our hunts...
This thread is also a good example of why the 'Last Call' thread process exists. Many people are continuously surprised by what a colector might pay to add a harder to find machine to their collection.
...The point is, klov is not the biggest nor most lucrative market for selling games. This is an insular community that 90% of people who are interested in games know nothing of.
So before anyone else destroys a game that "won't sell" -- threats which I have read on these forums three dozen times, at least -- try marketing it in a more mainstream venue where motivated buyers are more likely to see it.
xoxo van
eBay may be a much bigger market but 90% of listings come and go without a potentially interested person even seeing them. VAPS provides for much longer exposure, and many games have sold because of it, to both of us and to many others. There is a lot to be said for trying it all: the forums, Vaps, eBay, and even Craigslist if necessary.
...Now I just need to find an Aztarac
I shouldn't have passed on the last 4 or 5 I saw on eBay. I figured I'd find one fairly easily eventually and there wouldn't be a rush. Now I haven't seen one on eBay in quite some time and it's been listed in my signature for quite some time now.
Im glad you got your Grail.. I have not tried too hard to sell mine.. Dont think I have it listed for sale on my Vaps..
Think about VAPS, especially if you are patient. VAPS for sale entries obviously get tied to the encyclopedia entries and get a lot of exposure that way. 150,000 different people generate 3 million page views on this site each month.
