I...can't...stop! (not that I'd want to) :D

This one is actually working! Just filthy as hell. Cabinet is rough in spots, but no water damage or anything like that. Hopefully I can spend some quality time with it this weekend. Can't wait! :D

Great game!

Bay Area Amusements sells the decals for the cabinet and backbox if you want to get it looking brand new again. Also, playfield repros are coming and plastics are already available.

Congrats on the pickup. It's one of my favorite games from that era.

My pinball grail! Nice pickup, my man. Post some more pics when you can.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I know, I've seen lots of Taxi talk here lately. I wonder if it's just feeling more "dated" because of the Gorbie character. Doesn't matter to me because I just like playing the game.

I actually saw this one around the same time I landed my Space Shuttle back in July. The ad expired by the time I could have gotten a chance to take a look at it. Then it popped back up just last week, so I went for it. :)

I got it last weekend. Parked it in my garage and haven't touched it since. No time, and I need to push things around to make room. It's been a LONG week!

Jow, looks like the one that ended early on eBay - same paint missing off the back box.

I was told the auction ended early because of a family emergency. No worries. Not your fault, Gibb. Enjoy it, man.

Thanks, Jow. :) You're always welcome to come play it if you're ever local. I will keep an eye out for another one for ya!

It's actually missing some wood off the back box, not just paint. There's also some paint damage on the opposite side of the cab, like someone took some paint thinner to it, someone with mental problems, because the faces of the dog, the cabbie, and Santa are all melted off. Other side of the cab is fine and still decent over all with some work.

There's a spot of bare wood around the return lane where the ball drops from the ramp on the left, but the majority of the playfield is mylared, so that looks to be mostly in good shape.

Yeah EOL, space issues already sucked for me, and it's just getting worse. Comes with the hobby, though. I'm hoping to make some extra space in the house with some re-organizing. Dave, yeah, I got it bad, man. Seems to be a lot of pins moving around in our area.

I hope to get more pictures of it up soon. :D

Congrats on the Taxi pickup. I just bought mine about a month ago. I can't wait to get home every night after work and play a few games. Just curious if the drop targets for Pinbot are operational? It sounds like they are seldom working. Mine only work sporatically at best. Still a blast to play even without them working.

Does the audio on Taxi remind anyone else of Diner?
I always think this when I play Taxi. I think it's must be Python's
voice in both?

Steve

Don't know yet if the pinbot drop target is working on mine. Seemed to be working when I picked it up.

Got some pics of it finally. Spent half the day today tearing it down and cleaning. This thing is very dirty!

Looks like I've got a broken linkage at the out hole, anyone had this before?:

More pics. Hopefully these make the "after" pics all the more impressive.

Close up shots of some of the filth and tear down carnage. Not sure why, but someone put in some extra screws in under one of the sling shots.

From the looks of it, you will be working / cleaning / replacing for a while :) You have a lot of work to do :) I'm sure the after photos will look good.

Yeah. Lots and lots of work. I don't think I'm going to attempt touch ups, just clean and wax it. Tried some Magic Eraser on a small spot. Got rid of a few ball swirl marks, but also lifted some paint. :( I think I'm not doing the magic eraser any more.
