Sunday night i ordered a Jjp shirt.
this morning i received an email from them that they had just sold out of black medium shirts but they just got the 1st stock of the new gray Jjp shirts. with my ok they would send a gray medium shirt and a large black shirt for any inconvenience.
i responded with a yes, please and thank you. i run right between a med. and a large so its a win win for me. i never felt inconvenienced by Jjp being out of black medium shirts but i think its very nice that they care about their customers that much. if they will do that for a t shirt im willing to bet they will go the extra mile for anyone who purchases a pin. Thanks Jjp.

I really hope I can give them my business on the next table they produce. But as much as I'd like to help them since they're an upstart the WOZ theme is just too hokey for me.

Can't wait to see it and play a few games though. Somehow I'm sure I will regret my decision afterwards though.

On the other hand, I have absolutely nothing good to say about JJP customer service. At last years Texas show, they handed out free T-shirts. People lined up, and when they ran out, they told everyone who missed out to fill out a slip with personal info (one they had pre-printed) and they would be sent one, free.

One month later, no shirt. I wrote JJP (the company), got a nice response from a young lady there, she apologized and asked again for my info and said they'd send one right out.

That was last April. If they can't as much make a simple promise/commitment to people and not follow through, why would anyone want to hand them 8 grand for a pinball machine? Oh, true, I suppose once you hand money over you get more attention....

Customer service......really??

Non-paying non-customer service......really??

Fixed that for you.

They should have just never offered to supply the free shirts later in the first place, but if you want one that bad you could always buy one. A $10-15 shirt that you could have gotten had you been there earlier hardly seems gripe-worthy.

And you could have offered to buy one and pay shipping and see if they will make good on the 2nd free one?

You think Stern would have done you one better? Good luck with that.

Great, thanks - fixed - agreed they should never have offered. The point is, people's words have little if anything to do with honest intent anymore. It's not the $10 or $15, it's the point of having people fill out a preprinted form (information collection), promising something, not delivering, and then promising a second time in a written email, with neither being honored.

I can understand your gripe, I'd probably feel the same way for a few minutes, but they are a fledgling company that don't even have a game out (plus they are selling a lot of games on installments, and who knows how many will pull out at the last minute) yet and who knows how many t-shirts they promised that day. Add in shipping costs and it probably totals to at least a few thousand or so in unplanned promotional costs that they realized they couldn't afford.

I wonder how much seed money it would cost to start a new pinball company anyways? No way these guys will be profitable for probably at least 2-3 years...

sorry to hear your story bro but cut them a little slack as don't forget he has to build an entire "building" get all the equiptment, hire tech's, design the game, and get suppliers for parts and so much more that we don't realize and build a game........
i have met jack and can tell you that if he wasn't so busy and had a second to himself he would give you the shirt off his back.......
he did have every intention i'm sure of sending you a shirt but most likely got caught up in the CRAZINESS of trying to launch a company........
why not give a call to him personally at 1-800-473-JACK ....... i am sure if you give a call he will send it. just remeber how much he has to do every single day to get this company going.....good luck and i relly hope you get a shirt as it will be a pretty sweet collectable for us pinball folk.
i bought a WOZ from him as i believe it will be a ton of fun . and the game was $6500 not $8000 ......... and he let me pay it off !

Sure, it sucks you didn't get a free shirt, but the fact they give out as many as they did... Idk man, I'd just chalk it up to a bummer and have no hard feelings towards anyone giving away free stuff I didn't get.

I always find it amusing that when one person stands up and says "hoorah" for a positive experience with a given modicum, there's not always much said - but as soon as there is a negative comment about that same modicum in the same message, the woodwork becomes alive with folks who only consider the positive comment, regardless of whether they have ever even had experience with the entity. The good immediately outweighs the bad.

All in all, that's fine, that was my experience. I have no intent of ever spending $6500 on a pinball anyway, I don't have that kind of coin to spend. Regardless, I still hope they are successful at what they do, because at the end of the day, it's still pinball.

Moral of the story - bitch to yourself, because nobody really cares if you do...;>).

Follow the T-Shirts to Chia Earth !

Hmm nah I think in this case it was just because it was a gripe about not getting free stuff. If he had paid for a shirt or was getting short shrifted on an actual machine or support for said machine I think you'd see a different sort of response.

I mean, hell, that is why I wouldn't consider buying a new Stern pin after what I've read here (though considering the quality of construction I don't think I'd have given it much thought anyways).
