Put the dang thing in there. If it blows I'll buy you a stinking 'nother one.
Ok, well I tried it tonight.
Same result.

Sigh. So reflowing bad-looking solder spots on the chassis is the next logical step?

Did you check and adjust your 5vdc on the AR Board with a digital multimeter ?
Y'all are giving me waaaayyyy too much credit.
I'm not even sure what the AR board is.
Is the adjustment made with some sort of potentiometer-type-thing?
I need to find a FAQ on all this stuff.
Have you tried banging on the thermo-coupler?
You know it's all about the flux capacitor, right?
I wouldn't have mentioned that, personally.
If he messes up the flux capacitor he could go backwards in time.
Besides, I've yet to order a cap kit that came with one of these.![]()
Maybe he could take it far enough back to where it's actually working.

Won't work. Those flux capacitors require 1.21 Gigawatts to operate and I don't think that he has a power supply that puts that out.

You're thinking of the old-school FCs that were around when this Asteroids was only a few years old. The newer B&D 12V ones can power it with fusioned compost.
Thanks for that link, TG!
I think it's time . . .
Time to learn. If you read the manual through, and learn what the parts are all this advice will finally make sense.
1. Look at pics on the net and determine what monitor is in you cab - read about that type of monitor
There are 3 monitors it can be in an upright Asteroids
- G05-801
- WG19V2000
- G05-802 or 805
2. If you are getting the correct voltages then the problem is something else
3. If the Game PCB is known to be working, then it virtually must be one of the chassis boards.
I am always inclined to swap boards until it works.
Try to narrow the problem down this way. Ask people with the same monitor to lend you their board etc.
Have a repair party, that's how I got my SW going the first time
