Yep picked up my second Japanese slot. Anyways First one gave to my dad .Had a friend convert to quarters. I picked up one from cl and want to convert. Funny thing is sometimes it accepts quarters and sometimes not. I checked the net and saw how to but I dont think it shows my slot. Anyways I will try to take pic and hope to get replies. Why would it take quarters sometimes and sometimes not.? its not new and old quaters no ryme or reason tks chris............. once again if spelling is a problem plz dont reply....tks

Those are "Pachislo" style a.k.a. "skill stop" slots. They are illegal to possess in Washington, Oregon, California, and several other states.

For all the information you'd ever want to know about these machines, visit www.pachitalk.com

yup.

yea sometimes the coin conversion is picky or finiky at best. kinda hit n miss for the un intended mods. and yet same issues with legality. in Kommiefornia its 25 years or older on real slots. and pachislo japan slots are out all together. how this is so I don't know. there is funny regulations here in Kommiefornia.
As u can tell i got a buzz its friday on tuesday lol
yep 3 buttons

What kind of slot is it exactly? I have a Babel and No shaving at all was needed. Just needed to move the coin mech slot down a little. It now accepts tokens and quarters flawlessly. Can you take a picture of the coin mech with the cover removed as well? By the way Ken they are a great website. But they do not condone converting pachislos to accept quarters. I have a manual somewhere on how to convert a few different kinds. I think after a certain year it's not a simple adjustment like mine was. Which is a 02 machine.

Pachitalk _used_ to have alot of coin and bill acceptor conversion instructions on their forums. They removed all that information because of legal problems. In some states where Pachislo machines are legal, they are legal because they operate on tokens. When you convert them to take US coins (like quarters) and/or paper money then they become illegal machines subject to confiscation and destruction, plus putting the machine owner in jail for felony possesion of an illegal gambling device.

I have one its called "Spunky" It makes me feel like a winner because I hit a jackpot almost everytime I play it. I think its on the hardest setting too. Gambling machines are illegal here just like everwhere else but were everwhere, gas stations, bars, strip clubs, ect. One day a few years ago they just decided to start cracking down.
I got 7 broken ones and fixed three, gave two back to the person I got them from, kept one for myself and threw the rest in the alley and made an ad on freecycle.

My wife saw the title of this thread and was offended, well partly offened. She is part Japanese.

see if the pic comes up. whats wierd is sometimes it accepts quarters but mostly kicks them out or gets jammed. tokens always work
Ya while converting it that will happen. You have to keep adjusting it until it accepts both every time. When it was converted they didn't do it correctly. Mine did the same exact thing until I got it right.

The correct abbreviation for Japan is JPN. Let's keep things on the topic of Pachislo machines.
