I recently got a Gaplus, and I hate the typewriter instructions cards that Midway included with the cabinet. Want I want to put in it is the Japanese instruction card, but I can't fine a good scan. Anyone have one?

There are a whole bunch on this site:

The Galaga one is cool too!

Check with member baz on here. He's got 1000's of NOS instruction cards. He's got a thread somewhere with some pics in it. Two things though- he might not want to dig through them to find it and he's in Australia :p

Those are really cool. You have a Galplus cocktail? I thought it was an upright?

I have an upright, but Gaplus has windows in the bezel for instruction cards. The midway ones are shitty typewriter.

Ghostnuke sent me scans of the Japanese artwork that was Translated to English, but I though it would be really cool to use the Japanese version.

You can see the white paper with typewriter text here:

At least yours has them...some previous owner painted the instruction windows black on mine :( I like the English translated ones, since I don't speak Japanese :D If I could figure out an easy way to remove the black paint without damaging the rest of it, I might try those.

Yikes! Just use a razor blade and be VERY careful!

Let me know if you have a decent scan of this one.

I don't! That MAME artwork site didn't have it in the Galaga art. I would love that one too! Although where I would put it on a Galaga upright. :D

Edit:
I REALLY REALLY would love to see the Japanese artwork for Galaga '88. All I can find is the flyer, which is AWESOME!

Do you remember this thread?

The instruction card only mentions 3 power ups when there are 6!

  1. Phalanx
  2. Hyper
  3. Cyclone
  4. Elephant
  5. Sidewinder
  6. Stardust

I think I am going to use this Japanese card to make a new 2 set English version that covers all the power-ups and items.

That is the kind of artwork I take to Kinko's have them make me some art to staple somewhere. I don't have a Galaga '88 yet, but when I do get one I want a copy of the Japanese roms to play.

Yeah, I think I have that site bookmarked too. There was a Gaplus at a show I went to earlier this year that had a different ROMset that was easier than mine. I ended up with over 1 million, and got to around Parsec 63 or so, and I saw all the different powerups, as well as all the bonus stages. The alternate ship trick worked on that one too (which is partly why I did so much better). I wish I could figure out how to get that on mine.
