I am installing a 48-1 board in a pacman cocktail and I bought a used jammaboards converter on ebay for this project. Everything seems wrong when I power up, the test switch doesn't work, I jumpered the pin and got it into test mode. The player one controls do nothing, the player 2 joystick up and both sideways navigate but nothing else. Has anyone else had issues with one of these, is it another chinese piece of crap or am I missing something?

I have the same converter... take note that one of the GROUND PINS on the converter leads to nowhere...so you need to wire that ground wire up directly and bypass the converter.

I had a similar issue until I added a ground and wired it in. It's going strong since.

Since your using this in a CT, make sure your menu settings are saved as such.

What the hell?

Why would a company sell a board as something that clearly doesn't and hasn't worked and require soldering to even function as advertised?

Am I missing something here?

I've got 2 of their jamma extension harnesses that I'm going to RMA today... they didn't work either.

Frizz,

I guess my real point is why would a 'major' known retailer continue to sell these if they know they have problems and don't even work?

I can understand the Chinese manufacturers pumping this crap out; I just don't know why a major retailer here would sell the stuff.

I'm going to order Bob's extension harness; it's twice as expensive but I'd be willing to bet anything it'll work perfectly as advertised.
