Can anyone help me with hooking up my brand new power suppy to my 60 in 1 pcb?
I bought a bfg 450 watt power supply with 6pin, 24pin, sata and 8 pin (4+4) conectors. my jamma conector has the U ends and I am lost with electrical being a newbie. if anyone has hooked up a 60 in 1 icade, could you please post pictures. Thanks in advance to restoring my childhood.

It probably would have made more sense to ya if you had bought a standard arcade style switching power supply.

On the power cable that runs to your HDD you can cut the molex connector off and then splice the wires to the corresponding wires on the Jamma Harness.

That computer power supply is WAY, WAY overkill here. Any old AT or ATX supply will work fine. It would have been a lot easier if you had bought an arcade style power supply however...

Actually, don't a lot of those multiboards have connectors for a computer power supply already? Should just have a standard four pin molex power connector on it. Just plug in one of the hard disk power connectors. Since you're using an ATX power supply, to rig it on, you can use a paper clip to short the green wire on the ATX connector to ground (black wire), and the power supply should come on.

Forgot about this. You need to short it there is no button on the PCB to tell the power supply to turn on. BFG is way overkill. It would be best to use the power supply for a PC or sell it and use the money to buy a cheap switcher and pocket what's left over.

another noob question

I bought the black switching power supply from kevinmullins post above. I've hooked everything up except the 2 ac screws. My question is, how do I power up the power supply.

EDIT: Sorry, I wasn't thinking clearly in my original reply. You want the AC out from your power distribution block to go to those screws. Whichever wires supplied 120vac to your old power supply should supply the 120vac to your new power supply. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I just use the end of an extension cord. Make it as long as you need it and plug in a to a power strip (or another source) in the cabinet.

All depends on how you plan to turn your cabinet on/off.
(gotta have a switch in there somewhere)

If you plan on just plugging into a power strip of sorts just cut the end off an old PC power cord, strips the ends, add terminals....

Black - AC
White - AC
Green - FG
(your color code may differ)

Well, the barebones of what you need is as Kevin Mullins says... cut the end off an existing power cable, wire white and black to the AC screws and wire green to the ground screw.

That said, you should put a switch and maybe fuses in between there somewhere, and you also might want to wire up a power distribution block to provide power to your monitor as well.

Make sure you plug the JAMMA harnes to the board in the right way. From the picture you posted online, it looks like you have it on backwards. This can damage a board.

The left side of the connector on the board is where the +5 and +12 wires go, not the right.
