Does anyone here make or know where I can find such a thing? I was hoping to be able to swap a 48-in-1 in and out of my DKJR with relative ease.

Don't worry, I'm not going to convert the thing (almost done with restoring it) or throw a bunch of JAMMA wires in there; suppose I'll just have to look for another cabinet if there are no adapters out there.

Grrr why do Nintendo cabs always have to be "different?"

Did a run of them 2-3 years ago... never tested 'em though.

That's on my to-do list once I move a 'tendo into the house (and find the adapters).

Once again mark once you have those tested I would buy one off ya. Great for us guys who have only the room for a small collection but don't want to hack OG wiring

Mark,

Is it possible to make a vs harness to DK harness? I haven't read up on the difference, but I can imagine it's not a drop-in solution for the boards.

just wondering..

you could probably make an adapter to plug a nintendo classic (dk,dkjr,dk3,mb,popeye) pcb into a vs harness pretty easily.

a vs pcb to a nintendo classic harness with an edge connector should be doable also.
the problems would be a dk3 or popeye harness may not have player2 controls, and a mario bros harness probably does not have up and down.
there is a spot on the edge connector for the second button but most control panels won't be wired for it.

Couldn't you also just install a second power supply and JAMMA harness into the cab? That's what I'm planning to do with my Playchoice. But would the color inverter on the Nintendo monitor need to be switched to non-inverted for JAMMA games to display correctly?

I found this ...

i have a ninetdo cabinet as well and want to turn to jamma . I will open a sperate thread as this seems about a convertor. I cannot decide if to relace the wiring looms etc. Anyway not used this but... been looking for weeks ! http://in2amusements.com.au/products/Jamma_to_22_Pin_Universal_cable-94-10.html

Also the note about having to undo the invertor for the monitor is that a switch or setting. ? I.e if we do get a hardware convertor to get jamma harness working what needs to be done to the nintendo monitor ?

That isn't pinned for Nintendo and won't come close to doing what you want.

That converts a pre-JAMMA 22-pin wiring standard to JAMMA... the pinout isn't even close to nintendo.

aah

To be honest I have no idea what cabinet it is as it came with no games. All I can see is a 22 pin edge connector and assumed nintendo. Do you think it would be better just to take all the wiring out and connect the jamma harness.Any easy way to tell if it is a Nintendo connection or a pre-jamma ?

You could take pictures of the connector and power supply then post them here for identification. I'd say the easiest thing to do would be install a whole new Jamma harness. Bob Roberts carries them. This way there are no "surprises" with the wiring.
