OK, so I'm a bit of a newbie at this, so someone please let me know if I'm missing something obvious.

I picked up an Atari Jamma "Skull & Crossbones" board last week, and I tried to load it onto 2 different Jamma machines, and the game plays but I get no sound -- just a buzzing from the speakers that gets louder if you crank up the volume pot. I tried the board on a Gauntlet machine (converted to Konami Jamma setup for Crime Fighters) with sterio sound, and on a Black Tiger machine with mono sound. Both the same result.

I figured the board is damaged, since the packing job was terrible on it, so I ordered ANOTHER "Skull & Crossbones" board from a different vender, it arrives, I load it up and exactly the same thing. Am I missing something here? What are the chances of ordering 2 tested boards and them both having the same problem? I'm afraid I may be missing something simple.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys have.

Make sure that the cab are wired for -5v. That is needed for the sound to work.

Isn't that standard for Jamma? The tested cabs are running Black Tiger on one and Crime Fighters/Vendetta/Growl on the other, all Jamma boards that use standard sound, right?
