JAMMA SNES systems

I don't have a use for this but I wanted to just say "Great work". Really cool what you are doing.

This system will play Super Famicom games too?

Thanks a lot! Yeah in the crappy second video I uploaded last night, you can see me playing Akumajou Dracula which is a super famicom game, all you have to do is take needle nosed pliars to the cart slot of any SNES and remove the white tabs that fit into the grooves of the SNES cart, those keep you from fitting famicom carts into the cart slot. :)

One question: should the RCA cable (or whatever the one other than the main JAMMA connector is called) have a slot to hook in on a Sustem 246 cab, or would I need to do some sort of mod to the cab itself? Thanks.

The only other cable coming out of the SNES is the CPS2 connector that connects to a CPS2 style kick harness. I know the tekken kick harnesses are different. If your cab is JAMMA and your SNES game only uses 3 buttons it's not a problem, if you need more than 3 buttons you need to hook up a CPS2 kick harness, I can sell you a CPS2 kick harness as well cheap.

Just to make it clear for those who have ordered systems from me (since it was asked of me in a PM):

Don't plug an SNES AC adaptor into the SNES when it's connected to the JAMMA loom! It gets all the power it needs from the JAMMA harness. You *CAN* use it as a regular SNES still though, but don't plug it into the AC adaptor and the JAMMA edge at the same time. :)

Anyone heard from Airthrow lately? I ordered mine two and 1/2 months ago and he was sending me PMs with some updates. He has missed his ETAs and I have sent him two unanswered PMs over the last few weeks.

I had to file a claim after the unanswered PMs and got my money back. I didn't want to but it was getting close to the 45 day time frame. I guess that was a good idea after reading this now...

Lame, I was going to buy this as well, as my roommate has a Jamma cab he's not using. Glad i didn't spend the money.

Something must have happened to him... I bought one, got it, something had come loose inside during shipping and it didn't work right... sent it back, he fixed it and returned it... works great now.

He was communicating with me all the while.

I feels like he is an honest guy but maybe life got in his way.

He certainly should have been in contact with you however and returned your money promptly if he couldn't deliver what he promised to you.

That was in his private message to everyone about his work and school thing...the problem is, "life" gets in the way for everyone, but you don't disappear on everyone...that's what everyone says on KLOV, to just "be patient" but I mean, there's 45 days to file a PayPal claim and "good" business is done quickly. I know these are all hobbies and everything but we all should not be attempting to sell stuff and take monies if we can not deliver. I've seen MULTIPLE people do that and don't answer emails/PMs and just hibernate because they don't want to deal with it.

I'm sure he is a good guy but you have to communicate.

I have been thinking he is a good guy as well and I am ok with waiting. He had been responding but since he has gone silent I have begun to wonder. I really would like to have the SNES. I have a cabinet all built and artwork that I have paid for. I am hoping someone can poke him and see what's up.

I agree with everything you wrote... and I certainly wasn't defending his behavior... this is why I closed with the statement:

"He certainly should have been in contact with you however and returned your money promptly if he couldn't deliver what he promised to you."

All I was doing was sharing my personal history with the guy... provided nothing but facts. I hope it works out for all involved and I say again... going radio silent while in possession of someone's cash is unacceptable.

Update...I received a refund + a few extra dollars today. Not sure what happened but I hope things are ok with airthrow and disappointed my snes cabinet will not be in the cards.

You can always just take apart a snes controller and solder wires to the points for all the buttons and run them to your cp. I have done this on 2 cabs for friends, 1 for a ps cab and another for a n64 and alot cheaper then buying this thing.

6lucario, on my friends n64 cab we did not have p1/p2 start buttons on the cp. We wired the starts to the coin mech so to start a game you have to insert a quarter. Works real nice.
