I am in australia, and new to all this with my first machine arriving tomorrow.

If I was to buy a board from america, would it work in my machine in australia? Is there a PAL NTSC thing with arcade games?

Any help to explain this would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

It should work fine. Your input voltage to the power supply may be different(110v or 220V) but that's about it. The power supply converts it to +5volts to power your pcb.

hello fellow ozzie! just in case you are not aware there is a similar forum http://www.aussiearcade.com.au where you can get local help too.

if your first machine arriving tomorrow is coming from an australia source then psu wont be an issue but if it is coming from US or another country that uses less than 240volts ac supply then there are some things you need to do before you turn it on so that you dont blow up your game or game power supply components.

back onto your issue, generally speaking a game board will output at low res (15khz or CGA), medium res (approx 25k or EGA ?) and hi res (VGA)
as far as i know only old black and white use composite video so it is really a case of matching a monitor to the resolution/frequency of the output of the game board. you will need to check the docmentation for the game board to confirm what frequency/resolution you need.

there are also various converter boards for arcade game outputs to VGA or Composite video too!
