I have an Alien vs. Predator that no one wants, and I can't say I blame them...but the monitor is good and sound is excellent, etc. I've read on another forum that a standard jamma board will plug right into the cps2 harness and play just fine. Is this true and/or has anyone tried?

Thanks

Your game might have the audio wired up through a separate stereo connector but otherwise it should indeed be jamma and other jamma boards should plug right in.

Check and see if the speakers are going to a separate plug on the board.

I don't know anyone that has anything bad to say about AvP. Either the cabinet is tore the fuck up or you're asking too much...or you're selling to people with bad taste.

$250 locally through a classified site bismanonline.com
The CP has laminate corners peeling, but if thats an f'd up cab so be it. Monitor is great, and sound is great. I personally don't like the game. I don't know you, sosage, but I think the gameplay is boring. But I appreciate the assumption that I'm selling junk.
Maybe I am trying to sell to people with bad taste...AvP fans mostly:)

If you don't like that one of my three "if's" implies that you're selling junk, then don't come at us with lines like this:

I have an Alien vs. Predator that no one wants, and I can't say I blame them

There's no pictures, no clue what cabinet it is in and you're downing your own game which happens to have a desirable CPS2 board in it. I mean, what assumption did you expect people to come to?

Bonus that you're selling it for 250, which is more than fair depending on what cabinet it is in. Give us a picture and maybe we can help you price it out/figure out why you're having a hard time/find a buyer.

P.S. CPS2 is straight JAMMA. The kick harness and Q-Sound are the only proprietary wiring for the system. CPS3 utilizes the same stuff and will utilize the kick harness/Q-Sound as if it were CPS2. CPS1 requires it's own kick harness.

from his description I doubt it's a 3 player AvP in a big blue with the big marquee and everything...but if so then the people in his area are crazy :)

Here's 2 of the 3 pix he posted in his add on bismanonline.com. I don't see anything wrong with it?? I would have bought it for $250! I think your problem is you're trying to sell it in the wrong place. Post it here in the Videogames For Sale section. and you're wrong to say "Nobody wants it and I can't blame them".

Shit dude! That looks good! I agree that you are listing it in the wrong place. Try CL and I bet it will sell. Might have to deal with some flakes but it will sell as is. I'd hit it.

I apologize. I didn't know avp was so popular. I personally just don't like the game itself, as stated previously...but thanks for the info, and you may see the boards for sale here soon.

People in your area are crazy. AvP is one of the very best SSBMUps ever created.
I'm not just making that up either. It's pretty deep with special moves and secret little tricks like Kurosawa's pogo move w/ the sword.

Agree with what other guys have said here about the game. The pcb alone is worth $150. There a guy that does retail style sale up here in the bay area. He listed one for $800 on CL for over a year and finally sold it.

Among JAMMA collectors this is a very good game! Qsound Blues are too big for me but I have that board. I usually just throw it into a 2P cab for quick games since it's hard to find 3P for a full big game...

Ahh the big blue cabinet, hope you don't mind if i ask a few questions.. Is there a wood piece behind the glass, and a plastic bezel behind that?

I recently picked up a big blue cab with a few missing items.. monitor / and the items above, along with a marquee plastic holder, but i can find something to replace that...

Just trying to get an idea on what I need to do to get mine back to it's original glory.

I would of pounced on it for that price also if it was in my area.

Wow, that cab posted on Craigslist around here would've been gone in minutes. AVP and CPS2 games in general have a huge following. The Big Blue is a desirable cab, but it's size can be a detractor if you're limited on space.

I kind of wonder if this is a dedicated AvP unit (Big Blue that was built for and shipped with AvP). Is the control panel drilled ONLY for those three players? Like, it wasn't drilled once before with extra holes for a Street Fighter II layout? That might help us answer questions we've had about this game.
