Jamma harness wont fit to original micro switches ?

Hi I have an old arcade cabinet which I am converting to a jamma machine. It had a 22 pin connector so as advised stripped that out and replaced with a new Jamma harness, I have mended the power supply to get +/- 12 and 5 volts. Restored the locks and coin mechanisms. However the new new jamma harness does not fit it and the old connections of the joystick and button micro switches. The jamma ends are smaller than the micro switches ? The microswitch metal lug is about 6mm and the old connector from 22 pin edge is about 7 mm. On the jamma harness the ends are about 4.5mm, so are too small to attach to the 6 mm micro switch. I was wondering have I got old joysticks and buttons? Are new joysticks and buttons set to a standard size which the jamma harness end should easily fit on to ? I.e are the switches bigger than normal. As in if I order new joystick and buttons of ebay which come with new microswitches will the jamma 4.5 mm connector fit on them ok. Alternatively I will have to re-crimp about 20 connections with larger 7mm ends. Help ! Pictures of my whole cab are in a previous post. The picture attached is better than a thousand words !
Thanks in advance

You can replace JUST the microswitch with .187 tab switches which is pretty standard nowadays.
(.187 = 4.74mm or so)

I have run into this situation before. I always use a small side snips and trim each side of the tab down.

Taito Cab

Its an odd one I think from a previous post people think it is a taito cabinet. Is a brilliant build nice wood looks great just need to get it working. I have found some buttons on ebay with right sizeend . Interestingly they measured buttons and a joystick and found...
The new buttons and joysticks are

Buttons crimp width 2.75mm

Start button/joystick…4.65

so I am going to relook at the cable as I did not noise if the joystick ends or buttons were different . Here are some piccy's .......

Lots of good advise offered but I don't fancy re-crimping or soldering unless I really need to !!!

Cutting it down to size though seems a good idea I may need to do that with the joystick. I'll le you know how I get on . cheers form the uk !

+1 for this method. I did just that tonight working on my JAMMA harness. No damage to the harness and I will still be able to use the switch in other applications if need be.

all sorted now cheers for the advise

All sorted now I did a mixture in the end. I bought a new joystick and that had .187 microswitches, with correct blade size. I then found some old (.187) microswitches in another joystick and swapped them out with the 6mm blade microswitches in my original buttons. Strangely I got some new buttons and they had really small blades about same size as the speaker connection ones on the harness. In the end I did up the old buttons as they just seemed a lot heavier and better quality. They are yellow with black text on them so look a lot funkier !
