Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a Dynamo HS-5 project cab that needs a new jamma harness re-wire.

I have been reading a bit on Bob Robert's site (which is very informative) but I was also wondering if there are any other places I could look that show more detailed pictures of what goes where. I have never re-wired a cab, but I don't suppose it's that difficult?

I guess my main concern is the power/ground and monitor connections. I would hate to make a costly mistake.

As always, I look forward to all your help and advice.

Cheers :)

Not much to it really, is your jamma connector labeled?

nothing complicated, just time consuming. lol depends on how you run your wires too, if you're gonna use I think they're called "cable straps", the kind that wrap around the wiring and you screw to the cab.

I've never done it. I'm an idiot and always fixed whatever pins were broken on mine.

No offense if you can't wire up something as easy as jamma you shouldn't be in this hobby, its a as easy as looking at a pinout chart and connecting wires

I don't know about that... got a guy at work that builds computers, but the idea of running a JAMMA harness worried him a little. He just needed someone to talk him through it. Basically, just follow Bob's "how to", especially the how to bundle the wires... makes everything very neat and tidy in there. Granted, you may or may not NEED to bundle them all the same, but it's a really good starting point.

It just takes a bit of time to run everything. If you have a board that has a switch test it can save you a few minutes by just grounding out the wires from the front of the cabinet and putting them where they need to go (button-wise).

I've been reading up on it quite a lot and I'm to the point that I feel very confident I can do it. However, I am in the process of doing the monitor AC wiring but I have a black AC line coming from the monitor. Where in the world does this damn thing go?

The wire can be seen on the following photo:
