so, i've got my williams cab all set and currently playing combatribes. i'm trying to think of some more games to get that would be fun to play. however, it's horizontal monitor, not vertical. and i'd prefer to stay that way.

so far games i've though of are -

the simpsons
tetris
TMNT
real ghostbusters (working on this one right now)

anyways, i'd like to get a ikari warriors/mercs type overhead war scroller, but are there any that are setup for a horizontal monitor? and does anyone have any other suggestions for horizontally setup jamma games that are fun?

I loved the ghostbusters back in the day but never got anywhere in it. Is it a pretty big game?

Great thread. I could probably come up with my own list, but it would be nice to hear suggestions. I'm hopefully picking up a working 2-button JAMMA cab this weekend.

There were a lot of great CPS1 games:
Willow
3 Wonders
Final Fight
Strider
Ghouls 'N Ghosts
U.N. Squadron
Magic Sword
Captain Commando

Midnight Resistance if you want a rotary stick game like Ikari.

Of course you'll need the sticks. :)

Since you have TMNT and The Simpsons on your list, you might want to try Capcom's "The Punisher." It's a great beat 'em up!

will just an 8 way stick work or does it have to be a rotary stick?

also, would smash tv work with two 8 way sticks, and the harness would just plug in? or does the wiring need to be modified?

Ones I enjoy

Beat em ups like double dragon, bad dudes, fatal fury
Shooters like u.n. Squadron, in the hunt, and carrier air wing
Puzzle/platform games like snow bros, tumblepop, buster bros/pang
Medieval fantasy stuff like magic sword and black tiger.
Other's like empire city, rampart ( though not as good as the three player track ball version)

I have some horizontal jamma pcbs for sale, but can't find the thread now ... I'm filling this out on my phone while riding the bus

Rotary games suck without the right sticks. Some have a dip switch to make it fire the direction you're facing but it's just not the same
