I've never seen a monitor that looks like this and still works

Wait, you cant toss them in the dumpster anymore? :D

I used to toss them in dumpster still intact. When the garbage truck would lift the dumpster and spill the contents into the back it sounded like grenades going off (small little ones) in the back of the guys truck. hehehe....

When did this rule come about? I still do it.
 
I've never seen one that bad still working.... there's an old post on RGVAC where Bob Roberts claimed that he once saw one working, that had the mask burnt so bad that you could see the guns through the center of the front of the tube!
 
I wonder if someone used one of those brighter in it's life time?

I figure, Instead of recapping the monitor when it was needed someone decided to increase the brightness and intensity and maybe this was the cause.

I've used those and they didnt cause phosphor damage. Took out the heaters eventually though.

That tube is going to end up as part of my Cine test fixture. I wonder if the gun can be seen through that spot in the center?
