"Some say I'm being cocky. Some say I'm being lazy. I say, I'm being Billy Mitchell."

LOL Billy Mitchell is way too funny

• The joystick itself MUST be an original stock 4-way Donkey Kong arcade joystick, or a replacement 4-way joystick of exact size and shape as the original Donkey Kong arcade game joystick.

• The power supply must be an original Donkey Kong arcade machine power supply; please record the power supply showing the wires going into and coming out of it.

• Record the PCB set itself, showing that it is a 2-board set (one is the CPU board, one is the VIDEO board), which should be interfaced together with 2 ribbon cables.

• Show the part numbers on both boards. They should begin with "TKG4". Please ensure that the part numbers on the boards are readable from the recording and that the part numbers match on both boards.

• Show the ROM chips on both boards. Each board has six (6) ROM chips. The ROM chips on the video board are located at : 7C, 7D, 7E, 7F, 3N, 3P. The ROM chips on the cpu board are located at : 5A, 5B, 5C, 5E, 3F, 3H. These ROM chips must be original Donkey Kong arcade game chips, which originally included label stickers on them indicating the TKG4 model, and the location of the chips' installation socket. Please record on camera any and all information written on either the ROM chips themselves, or the label stickers on the ROM chips.

• Show the dipswitch bank, located approximately near C10. The switch bank must correspond to the correct settings : SW 1 – SW 7 OFF, SW 8 – ON.

• Show the Z80 processor located on the CPU board at 7C. It must be labeled "780c", or "Z80".

• No adjustments or additions to the PCB set may be used. High score save kits, or any other hardware attached to the Z80 processor or anywhere else on the board or game is strictly prohibited.

How were the boards in those machines verified?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Wouldn't the referee be able to verify the machine and its board?
Most of the stuff bradd posted doesn't apply since the score was live and not taped.

wouldnt it all just be verified live the same way as on tape by a referee? pretty sure the game still has to be verified, i doubt they go to all that trouble for a home submission, but if its in an arcade they just assume it has all original/correct parts? i would think the whole purpose of having multiple refs present would be to verify that everything is legit in person.

one thing is almost certain, unlike weibe in king of kong, the board in the machine billy beat the score on was not provided to him by MR AWESOME ROY SCHILDT! isnt it obvious given that connection that twingalaxies refs would be a little suspicious of weibes video tape score in king of kong???

Like him or Hate him. You've got to admit that the man has talent.

I just wish that he would come forth with the promise of what he said in the the King of Kong, that he had "something in the works and was going to attempt something that nobody else had done. And it would shock the world"........

Still waiting to be shocked.....

Either way, good job Billy.

not even the least surprised the man took down not one but TWO highly contested classic age scores in ONE day??? cant remember that happening any time recently. maybe not shocked, but i was definitely surprised, i dont think anyone was expecting him to take back DK from the new record holder and weibes recent DKJR score on the same day.

Only that the machine parts and board set were original.
The rest is for people submitting taped attempts.
I am sure the ref checked out the machine and watched the attempt.

good point. i went back and edited for content.

Eh,I've never been wowed by gaming high scores. So he got two world records in one day...big whoop. And I wouldn't trust TG's judgement anyways since they pretty much rode Billy's pole throughout the movie....the admission of that lame video he sent in to claim the DK record....weak.

noone told him there was a donkey kong movie being made, maybe if they told him he would have had time to prepare. billy probably had that tape sitting in his closet for years. either way this is the second time he has reclaimed that record in public.

Don't get me wrong. Two WR High Scores in one sitting is not an easy feat by any stretch.

However, I highly doubt that is what he was talking about, when he said that he had something to "Shock the world" in the movie. As when he said that, the movie had come out when he still had the WR in DK.

So I will wait to see what World Shocking events are in store for us.

when they were making the film tim sczerby had the donkey kong record, a record he held since 2000, yet another important fact left out of the "documentary". billy vs steve just made a better story i guess. i agree though, this isnt his big deal yet, but whatever it is, when it happens i have no doubt it will be shocking. my guess is it has something to do with a certain female pac...

Congratulations to him! That is very impressive. Any guy that will keep the same haircut from the 80's to help keep the dream alive is alright in my book.
