I watched the presser, and Im impressed. Very exciting things coming from Nintendo.

3DS and ALL the 3rd party support = win.

Will have to catch up on all this. I saw the scree for a new GoldenSun, which is exciting. I remember hearing about it a while back and promptly forgot :)

Omgzzzzzz!!! I wonder when it will be release!!!!!!!

Any educated speculation please!

That's what got me the most excited... new Kid Icarus!!! bout time.... and new Zelda! I just hope I don't have to use the touch pad to run around

Im a sucker for spending money over and over, so Im stoked on the Star Fox 64 3DS game. YES!

I want this week to end... no more announcements please, so I can get back to my regularly scheduled work...

the 3ds seems cool, the kids both want one.

the legend of zelda; sports resort was not very surprising, but good to have it confirmed finally. the first time I played wii sports resort with the motion plus I said, " just wait till they make a zelda game for this thing."

I'm excited about the 3DS, but I am more excited about finally having an analogue stick than the 3D feature. I'll reserve judgement on the 3D bit until I see it... It's a lenticular display?

3D just seems to be the latest gimmick to sell more hardware. I'm not too excited with it.

I'm more excited about a Wii Donkey Kong Country. I'll check out 3DS for sure, but that Zelda conversion does nothing for me (I hated the original). Kid Icarus Uprising on 3DS though... now that's interesting.

Yeah, not everyone shares the same opinion that it was the best Zelda ever made though it usually is the opinion of the majority. I think it's just a different game. I still love the original, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening and Minish Cap.

Though, you know Kid Icarus technically has the same gameplay and I wouldn't be surprised if it uses the same engine. It's just different story, characters and features.

Either way, I'm excited for both games. :)

Amen. I hated OoT, but mainly because I missed getting the horse, so I had to run everywhere on foot. That got old FAST. I think I got to the fire temple and quit. I'll probably give it another go on the 3DS, though.

Despite what I said above, it was awesome for the time, much like Mario 64 was. But neither of those games have the replay value now that many of the other titles do. Seriously, OoT has not aged well, graphically. Same goes for FFVII. People love that stupid game, but man does it look like ass now.

The difference is that the new Kid Icarus is a brand new game...

Yes, but like you said, "awesome for the time." Just because a game doesn't have as good of graphics as current games, doesn't make it a worse game. If we went by this standard, then most Nintendo games we consider "classic" and "memorable" would all be considered "stupid" or bad. Ex. Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 1/2/3, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!, etc. Clearly, these games are inferior graphically, but I wouldn't consider them stupid. And to admit the reason why you didn't like OoT was because you didn't play it correctly is not necessarily a fair review of the game.

FFVII is another game that I feel is memorable and classic not because of it's graphics, but because of the story, soundtrack, characters, etc. I don't believe this is considered the best FF (that had various spin-offs and movies) of the series because of it's graphics.

Also, I wasn't suggesting Kid Icarus was the same game as OoT. I was trying to say that it is most likely just as good of a game in terms of gameplay and game engine due to the similarity. Though, come to think of it, I will digress and say that Kid Icarus probably has better graphics based on what I saw in the trailer as far as cut scenes and gameplay. It looks like Gamecube quality.

Much love Matt, just trying to back up my seemingly weak initial opinions. :D

Star Fox 64 on the 3DS is reason enough to buy it.

How come no one else cares about SF? *sadface*

I wasn't counting StarFox as they just showed the ship briefly during the montage but didn't mention it by name in the press conference which makes me think it won't be a launch title.

Ahh, but those still hold up more than first generation polygon graphics. At least to me and most other gamers who grew up on NES, etc.

I don't agree. I didn't play it "incorrectly" because the game was setup to allow you to alter the future based on your actions in the past. It just sucked that I missed a vital part of the game with no way to recover it. My fault? Sure. But that's part of the game. And no, that's not the only reason I didn't "like" it. Perhaps my use of the word "hate" was a bit too harsh - I don't really hate the game, I have just found more enjoyment out of other titles in the series.

Oh, I know. I realize the graphics have nothing to do with it, but what I'm saying is that trying to go play it now is almost painful, regardless of the other elements, just because the graphics burn my eyes :p Oh, and Materia. WTF is that shit anyway? Ha.

I know, man. I was really just giving you a hard time ;)

:D Fair enough. Again, I was really just being a douche. Perhaps I'm just bitter and wish that I could have fully enjoyed games like OoT and FFVII back in the day. And now I can't because the first gen polygonal stuff just makes my eyes bleed.

There is an "HD" patch or whatever for the OoT rom that can be used on PC...I have it and it does look pretty good, but I have yet to spend any time with it.

Like I said, I'll probably give OoT a whirl on 3DS and hopefully get to see what everyone thought was so effing great about that game. But again, I think that time has passed. It was great for its time, but if the same game were released today for the first time (not considering graphics), would it still seem as great? I don't know, and it doesn't really matter at this point :)

A "great" game should be able to stand the tests of time, which I don't think OoT can do.

As for FF, I haven't really been a fan of any FF game since the SNES days.

I could agree with this, especially if it has online multiplayer! That was one great game. I didn't care much for the first SF, but SF64 was awesome.

Amen. SF64 was probably my fav N64 game, ever. I LOVED SF Adventures on GC, too. I never got to play SF Assault for whatever reason, so I don't know if it was any good. Maybe I'll pick up a cheap copy now that I found my wavebird again...

I agree. Great game. Do you think they will use the FX chip again? Haha. I loved how they played that up at the time. But "3D" graphics on the SNES was mind-blowing. You can buy a bootleg release of StarFox 2 that was never released. I've never tried it though. I thought the DS version was great as well. But it is a perfect game to utilize the 3D feature on the 3DS.

As for FF, I haven't really been a fan of any FF game since the SNES days.

You mean when you played Final Fantasy II and III and realized they were actually Final Fantasy IV and VI after the fact? Haha. Man, they really dropped the ball on that one.
