Ok so its killing me. I want a pinball machine so bad. I have wanted to own one for years, but never had the oportunity to do so until now. The bug to buy one is biting me bad. At current monent I don't have alot of money becaue I am waiting for my year end bonus to come in. Finally got confimation it will be here next friday. The other thing that is killing me is that I can't seem to find any of the machines I really want. I want an Iron Man and family guy but those are out of my price range for now. I want a Robo War but those seem to be uber rare, and the one thats for sell with in driving range(long drive but still driveable) the guy wants $1,175. I would like a Police Force, but haven't seen one at all. I would also like a Dolly Parton because I plan to do the Lost Vegas conversion when the kit comes out. Found one thats currently going for a cheap price, but its a 4hr drive one way and apparently alot of people are watching it because it shows up on the most watched list.

Its all I can do to stop myself from going out and buying the pinball machines that do come avaliable close to me, just because its conveniant. I missed out on a decent priced funhouse because I didnt have money on hand and it was gone in a few hours.

Plus the Allentown pinball convention will be here in about a month, but what are my chances I will really find a good deal? From what I have read most people selling are pricing for those not in the know on what machines are worth.

I really don't know the point of this post, other then I just needed to vent a bit.

i know what you mean...i've got a deal in place for a twister pinball, but it will be the first part of may before i can get it. the wait is absolutely killing me.

For starters I've seen looked at instances of documented eBay sales and pin sales have declined. And not to get all political and start any shit - but I will say this year the experts predict ~1,000,000+ house foreclosures and it's very obvious this economy isn't doing well. This will work in your favor. I've personally been seeing a non selling trend for arcades that I would deem as good deals locally and I'm not referring to my own lol. Face it people just don;t have the money to throw around these days and with the continuous loss of jobs I would bet you'll start seeing a big burst of machines showing up for sale. Hopefully you'll still be gainfully employed and able to scoop them up.

If you shop around for dead machines of the 80s vintage, you can get some pretty good deals. I just picked up my first pin a short while ago, a 1981 Bally Flash Gordon, paid $125 for the machine, and it looks like the total after parts will be under $300. I could have done better but I didn't feel like rebuilding the solenoid drive board.

As for machines that are fun, check out these:

F14 Tomcat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRAXMyfxQ1A

there are countless others.

I am interested in F14, the others are ok. I want to bid on a non-working dolly, but alot of people are watching it and its a 8hr drive round trip. I figured a dolly wasn't a highly sought after pin, but aparently the Lost Vegas conversion has people scrounging for a worn out dolly.

There are a bunch of pins that I like for what they are, but the ones I am currently interested in I have "plans" for, beyond repair and playing. I did come across a good deal on a flash gordon that needed repairs, not quite as extensive as yours, but at the time I didn't have the money. Now that I got money I either can't find what I really want, or its too far away for me to logically pickup.
