Hey klov, its been months I figure that I outta pop in and say hi. Still doing well after my intervention and not crazy about hoarding arcades anymore. Staying "in the game" without clearing house but went on a sawzall rampage in the garage and parted maybe 20 cabinets? LOL, ArcRevival would have been running circles and screaming! Hahaha :)

I'm very sad that I missed CAX but it was not possible for me to make it out. Damn, that would have been the 5th year in a row!! I did make it to the Seattle show and that was actually fun for me. The thought of arcades had made me sick for so long that I wasn't sure if I would even enjoy it.

I'm doing ok, trying to get and keep my head above the water as the economy is getting worse. I still have a job, thankfully survived a few rounds of cuts, but I took a cut in pay and benefits costs have risen through the roof as the government is forced to reduce its footprint. I live in paranoia now almost not thinking if but when does the sh-t really hit the fan?? :D

Anyways, I was reading/skimming some posts and am very broken up about Luna City being no more!!! Peter was my initial inspiration to go nutso in the hobby, the old housecade setup he had.

In many ways Peter and ZFCamaro have pretty much ruined my life and I had a very bad mental sickness for a long time! I'm still just around the threshold of 40 machines. I had to clean up my life, now you can walk through my house not through isles, have actual seating for more than 4 people can sit, 99% are working and very cool games not some lame conversions. I recently let some grails go, but financially I had to do it and its great to know now that the world won't stop spinning if you sell a hard to find unique game that nobody else around you has.

Only thing arcade related I've really done lately other than the Seattle show is had a party a few weekends ago for a buddy who has cancer and needed an uplifting day instead of suffering. 2 of the 4 Daytona machines died and now need repair! A few of the local klov guys made it out and I am very appreciative that they'd make the trek out to my house to enjoy the games and support Rick when his spirits are suffering.

What else is new in KLOV world that I should know about???

Karl! Great to hear from you man! Glad to hear that things are going okay in your life. Hope the job situation improves or at least holds level. We missed you at CAX, but sometimes life gets in the way and hobbies take a back seat so that is understood. And all along I thought it was just a woman... :)

Hi Karl,

I did miss seeing you there! I"m glad you are doing okay, and I often think about calling, but then something interrupts me and I forget to do it... (I'm old, remember?)

I actually played Quantum this year and for some reason liked it soooo much more - and yes, got some circles too!! :D

I'll be out your way in a few weeks, going to Seattle the 2nd of August for 4 nights, not sure how far away you will be, but I"ll have Josie Jr with me :) Let me know if that is close enough to meet up!

I heard tales of another girl in your life now - and if so, I hope all is going well!

Be well!

LOL, as Dokert would call it, yes its "mating season"...

No girlfriend currently but have made it a point to get outside and see the world and casually date.

A huge part of my original epiphany and realizing the sickness that had consumed me was that for years I have had my head inside of a Ms. Pac-Man one hundred times more than a vagina!

LOL, love the song and accept your Trek challenge next time one of us is on either end of each other... wait, did I say that right??

Josie, I would be very honored if you and Jo Jr. made it down to my neck of the woods. I live about an hour or so Southeast of Seattle. I don't know what I'm doing the 2nd-ish but I would make it a point to make myself available.

Well, we both arrive on the 2nd, me by car, her by airplane... but in the evening... that is a Monday, we drive back to MT together on Friday... so it would be during that week sometime that it would be nice to get together for a bit! :) Just don't tell her where your head has/hasn't been... :D

Damn, another thing I notice... all the sudden Buzz Aldrin over there in Spokane has cloned my avatar icon thing! :)

Good to see you back for a bit, Karl!

Glad that you found some balance in your arcade collecting too. Balance is good in everything and it'll keep you from burning out completely...

+1 to what everyone else has said!

Latest news... Jow finally admits his affection for Moon Patrol

Seriously??

Ha! I actually played some Moon Patrol at CAX for the first time in an actual cabinet (all other times were in MAME).... and it wasnt that bad. I tried to get my wife to play it, but she gave me a few Mel Gibson one liners, and moved over to Varkon.

Karl, good to see you around bro. How's ol' Sarge doin?

Sarge is still dopey as always only bigger! Goes with me everywhere, we were at the Hanford Nuclear sight on a tour last week. He's about 2.5 years old now and still thinks he's a puppy and lapdog when he can get away with it. Its funny how when you don't have kids some little fuzzy animal ends up being your best friend. Here's a few recent pictures of him, surprised he doesn't have his tongue hanging and in my face...
