It's been a while since I've bought/sold...price checks?

Sorry if this is a little annoying, but I was curious what I could possibly get for these machines in today's market. I'm looking to downsize a bit, but want to know if it's worth doing so. Here's what I'm looking to (possibly) sell.

Star Wars (upright) - Has some monitor issues (collapsed image), cab in good shape
APB - cab in good shape, I have repro side art I could apply, no seat
Asteroids - Great shape, monitor bright and sharp
Pleaides - Good shape, could use a cap kit
Ms. Pac Man - Excellent shape, sides look good, new marquee, bezel, CP, monitor
Donkey Kong - Excellent shape, new CP, side art, cab in great shape, monitor bright and clear
Punch-Out!! - Two perfect monitors, new CP, new side art, new glass, recent paint job, new t-molding

I'm just getting to where I want to focus on my surefire keepers and possibly pick up another pin or two soon. Any ballpark guesses would be nice.

Thanks, fellas.

Edit: Added one more...

Well, clearly the SW is still going to get decent money.

I'd hold on to these games unless you really want to get rid of them. This is a bad time to be selling anything.

I recently sold a Punch Out in similar condition for $400
I recently bought an APB in similar condition (but mine has the seat) for $250

Hope that helps a bit.

There's a huge difference between KLOV prices and listing prices. I agree with RobotronJon, not a good time to sell those games if you're looking to make a good buck. I would hold onto those classics as you'll never know when you'll want them again. But like some guys in here, they sell games knowing they could always buy them again. The games on your list aren't necessarily rare.

Jar, here's what I think would be the selling prices in my neck of the woods:

Star Wars (upright) - Still here game playing? $300
APB - $150-$200
Asteroids - $300, maybe $200 if no older gamers available with cash
Pleaides - sorry, no idea
Ms. Pac Man - $650- $750 depending on your buyer
Donkey Kong - $600 depending on your buyer
Punch-Out!! - $big range depending on buyer $550- $750

hope my two cents helps. damn this economy!

You could sell the parts of the SW for a minimum of $500. Not that I would do that.

if all the Star Wars needs is a monitor rebuild then its worth more than 300. The boardset alone is worth 200 to 250. I would not sell it for less than 500 if the cab is nice.

Just assuming the Star Wars worked, had good arts, but would need a vector monitor is how I see that $300 price range.

Hey, maybe it is a fixable issue. But realistically how long does an issue with a vector take to fix? 10 minutes? 2 days? Order parts? Pull things? Not everyone is an expert electrician or tech whiz. C'mon, guys.

These things are around, they usually sell 100% working in the Willamette Valley for $750-$900. Yes, he could part it out for more than $300. But, if he wants an honest assesment of what it WILL sell for as a whole, there ya go fellas.

The problem with this game is it not being as easy as repairing a jamma game with a standard color 19" monitor. I don't know many people who will pay top dollar for an entire cab that could have a very large question mark above it for repairs. Not now. Not in this economy.

Now, if this was a cockpit with good arts, it goes without saying that he could ask $300 for just the cab.

my two cents.

sorry to derail your thread, Jar

I would be surprised if there is a problem with that monitor that Bob Roberts $40.00 rebuild kit doesn't fix. Star Wars are still in high demand. I myself will pay $400 for one like that and flip it. If someone is keeping it for themselves then $500 is not outrageous. You could rebuild the monitor and have a nice game for less than 600. I don't see why you would have to invest 300 into a game with a partially working monitor. If you have one you want to sell for $300, let me know :)

gotta respect some of these guys opinions. They seem to know what they are talking about.

It's just my opinion, but I think if you list it in it's current state for $500 you'll get tire kickers galore, who will all talk you down. It would sell in 48 hours for $300. If at the very least to be converted to a lounge chair.:)

I see now that there's already an offer for $500. Score!

Of course, let me know when that deal works out.

I think its best for you to repair the monitor (either yourself or send it "out" for repair). Once fully working, it would bring you so much more cash with no questions asked.

I was just doing a little research about buying a Toobin and the link on this thread caught my eye...

What do you think they meant about the monitor being important to get this price?

.
It uses a 19" medium rez tube. If yours is burnt to hell and/or has a weak image, your pretty much SOL. I don't think anyone has posted that they got a tri-sync monitor to work with it.

So, your only other option might be replacement tube. Don't know if any tubes are available.

I may be out of touch and probably overpaid, but I agree with this range for my Punch-Out in similar condition to the OP.

If he lists that SW for $300 I'll take it... AND I'll pick it up this weekend!

If he lists that SW for $500 I'll take it... and we can work out how, when and where I can get it. Oh... and I'd request photos.

I rest my case.

At $300 your cab is sold immediately. At $500, it isn't being taken within 48 hours is it?

I love being right.

I think you misinterpreted my post. For $300 I take a day off work and drive down there. For $500 I pay immediately and then schedule a time to go pick it up... with the condition that if it's beat to shit I can back out.

That said, dude said it's in good shape... it's in good shape.

ah, I see. I read it wrong.

Either way, good for Jar155. Clearly people will pay top dollar for a Star Wars with issues. I would never, ever pay that kind of money for it. Without the monitor working 100% on a SW, it's too hard to figure out if the boards have any sort of glithces or if the yoke operates as it is supposed too, without either A). repairing the monitor, or B). plugging the boards into another cab to test.

Star Wars is probably my favorite classic game. I look at it like I look at a street bike. If it has issues, you can get it for a good price. If you're a mechanic, you can fix it up and sell it with an eventual profit. Personally, I'd go buy a crotch-rocket from a dealer to avoid finding the bikes that are priced well, but rode hard with issues. I'd pay alot more money for something that didn't end up costing me time and money to get operational.
