It's been a production weekend! Star Castle and California Speed up and running..

Gah,..I meant to say a productive weekend... oh well..cant change it now...

Late last night, I finally got my Star Castle that I picked up a week ago running. It was playing blind, but after some work on the monitor, it's running great.

I felt so good about that, I took a stab at the California Speed I picked up from fellow KLOVer Clubninja a few weeks back. I felt bad when picking it up as it was apparently working prior to me getting there..then of course..during the "demo", the brakes seemed to be on all the time and the car wouldn't move (gotta be the worst feeling in the world and I'm sure some of us here have been there...trying to sell a game and when someone shows up..it fails at something).

Well..got to look at it today, pulled the pedals panel out and low n behold... the molex that attaches to the break had disconnected. plugged it back in and viola! working 100% as advertised. Thanks Clubninja, my kids havent been off the game all day, definitely a hit as it really is the only modern game in my collection..so they're stoked!

Now I just gotta knock a 28.5" door out so I can fit the 30" cab into my gameroom and out of my work area :)

That Star Castle looks great. One question for you... The colored rings in the center of the screen, is that on the bezel, or something behind it? I'm restoring an original Star Castle cab that was converted to a Rygar. It had the original Bezel, but mine has no rings...

Cliffo, there is a bezel, and then there is a heavy piece of blue plastic that sits directly on the monitor and the colored rings are on that plastic.

Excellent, glad my bezel wasn't ruined when the cab was converted. So one more thing to track down... :)

good luck with the restoration. Star Castle has been on my want list since I started and was/is my grail of video games. luckily, someone saw my want list on VAPS and contacted me with the machine in the pic, only had to fix a monitor issue. As you can imagine, I was stunned at how nice of shape it was in.
