But I'm getting a few "wandering" items. In the picture you can see that the line from the "G" and the line from the "1" are in the wrong place, and the blue dot at the bottom left is elongated and in the wrong spot. Some of the stars are elongated, or lines now, instead of dots.

Is this an AVG/PCB or a monitor problem? Has anyone seen this before?

get it good and warmed up a do your BIP test.

Also you want squares and not diamonds shapes in your test grid.

the four dots need to be in the corners, though sometimes its extremely hard if not impossible to achieve.

be patient, good luck.

Get the blue dots in the corners. You'll find there are many adjustments pots available on the game PCB which allows for too many ways for adjustment errors. It takes time to get those blue dots where they need to be. You'll knwo when you've made the wrong adjustments because:
1.) Your letters will appear stretched or the dots will appear stretched
2.) You'll experience seperated vectors such as shield indicator, tie fighters wings will appear slightly seperated and your OP menu settings like BIP will have seperated lines. Again when seeing this ... this is wrong.

Also (obviously) your colors are off as well. This can be either a degaussing issue (doubt it), your yoke is crooked or too close to the tube (possible) and/or you need to adjust the purity ring.
