Sega Star Wars Arcade...

This showed up on the local CL and I figured I'd take a shot. After weeks of back and forth emailing with the owner who had it on location, and seemingly getting nowhere at times, it is now sitting in its new home.

I only played this on the Sega 32X and never actually saw one in person until this one a few weeks ago. It plays excellent and is a blast to play. Only issue is the convergence is a little off on the monitor.

It took 3 people (thanks DJDNS and Jeff, hope the backs don't hurt too much) and 2 pickups to load and move.

It is bigger than expected and should be interesting getting it into the gameroom. The plan is to get a video converter so I can wall mount a plasma and display the game thru that, but that is dependent on if the game is able to be disassembled partially to fit thru the doors to the game room.

Well here it is...

Oh, and since I HATE posts where people pick games up and never mention what they payed...

Op wanted $1000 but I got it for $500. I thought it was fair!

Your missing one picture. Where is the picture of your wife's face expression? L.O.L

Yeah, she wasnt to pleased leading up to the purchase but I think she kind of got excited when she saw it. I'll have to have her give it a shot with me tonight. The game of course...

It's actually my most fav Star Wars game ever.
I haven't played Trilogy or Pod Racer however...

It's a grail game for me but the problem I have is the rear projection screen. I really wish they had an upright CRT version.

Truely a beast, but a great one, and $500 is a great price. Then again full size games often are discounted since no one will buy them.

Also, I read on the internets that supposedly only 12 were ever imported into the US. Any truth to that? I can't seem to find that much information on it.

many years ago Al got ahold the board part of it(middle part). They set it up at CAX and hooked it up to my race drivin monitor. I think it was missing the sound board.. Not sure if it was ever fixed, Not sure what happened to it either..

Its a very cool piece. I thought it was better than the star wars trilogy one that came out later..

Congrats! There was one listed here in MI somewhere in the northern part of the state. Not sure if it ever sold though. The cab monitor and control panel section remind me a bit of my Star Wars Trilogy. Never had a chance to play Sega's first Star Wars game though.

That is an awesome game - it's really fun. It's more of a simulator than a game which is why I like it.

Also - $500 is a great deal on that game ($1000 would have been decent too.) There aren't a lot of those Sega Star Wars machines floating around.
