So I walk into a semi-local junk shop (that I didn't know existed until this weekend)... and I see...

and the other half of that wall...

After I caught my breath, I talked with the person who runs the junk shop. She was cool with me "doing whatever I needed" to help her get rid of these things. She said she gets tons of old TVs in on consignment, never knows what to do with them (!!!). I think I'm going to be hitting this place up fairly regularly.

I didn't have my truck, and my car is fairly small for hauling massive amounts of tube goodness. I decided to take 2 of them (the most I could fit at the time), and come back later with my truck.

So I stopped back on Sunday, went through every TV, confirming that they had neck sockets that were generally considered compatible with arcade use. Even took the time to Google the tube numbers and see if there were any hits with people trying to use them in arcade stuff. After whittling down the stack, I came up with an additional 11 sets that would work.

The shop had a mix of 13's, 14's, 19's, 20's, 21's, and 25's (and some larger that I didn't measure/investigate tube numbers on).

So, I loaded the suitable candidates in the truck:

I haven't gotten through them all yet (to check Yoke measurements, etc.), that's a project for this coming week/weekend. Here they are sitting in my garage:

There are two stacks, a total of 15 televisions. The smarter of you will notice that 11 does not equal 15. You'll remember, I took two home on Saturday, but there are also two in there from a local flea market that I hit almost weekly looking for tubes.

If you are local, I'll give you the info for this junk shop... I'm going to be busy with this batch of TVs for a while, but will definitely keep checking this shop for more suitable tubes.

I'm also thinking, worst case I can buy the universal chassis and get these up and running as arcade monitors anyway. I'm sure there are a bunch in this stack that will prove problematic. I do know that one or two of them should be drop-in replacements for a K7000 (including yoke!). I'm also sure I'll bump into bonded yokes and all of the other mess that come with tube swaps. But I'm OK with the challenge!

Looks like you hit the mother load. I myself picked up 6 tvs saturday for a total of 8 so far and 4 of them were drop in replacements for k7000 cr 31 and k4600 cr 23 the other 4 I need to swap yokes.
