What you can do with some polishing compound and a cloth wheel for a grinder. Honestly I couldn't believe the Centipede TB started turning white when I polished it. I thought it was going to just be a shiny yellow trackball.:D I knew they where originally white Didn't think that it would polish out that easily. (Actually wasn't all that easy)

It was called Polishing compound white, looks like a giant stick of chalk. I got it at Harbor Freights and it was a cloth polishing wheel I think it was the kind that's sewed up more there is another type of cloth wheel that's really loose and open not that one.

Some more photo's got a picture of that the trackball look like before. (well its another TB but it was the same color when I started.) I also have some before and after pictures of the CP.

There are some very faint yellow spots you have to really look though. I got the point where I felt it was good enough then stopped.

Nice idea. I still have two original trackballs for my Crystal Castles cocktail I may try saving using your method.

Works great on CC as well I did it on an upright TB. Unfortunately I must have polished it to well because it popped out of my hands and chipped the ball on the floor.

Inspired by your efforts, I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a bench polisher.

I can now get rid of my replacement trackballs and use the originals. The picture actually makes the bad trackball look better than it is. They were both pretty awful looking when I got them. I tried car wax and polishing compound. Improved, but still looked pretty bad.

The polisher is working great. The polished one on the left was a quick looksee to test out the polisher. The one on the right is heavily oxidized and dull.

Thanks for your insight.
