It never ends - NEW GAME! :) ...and, the ethics of honoring your asking price.

Doin' a little CL browsing this morning, and saw a great deal on a Black Knight 2000 pin! I've been jonesin' for one lately...I'm a sucker for games that sing. :)

Anyway, when I got there - the seller told me that he was getting frantic Emails from a guy in vegas w/ a pinball museum (hmmmmmmmmm) who kept offering him more and more and begging him to sell it to him instead of me! Well, thankfully the seller was cool - and sold it to me at his original asking price. I would have been PISSSSED if I had sat in traffic for as long as I did only to become part of a bidding war!

I suppose these are the "before" pics...although gotta say - in much better shape than pins usually are from non-collector types.

That really is AWSOME! I love both of the Black Knigh games. To me they are right up there with Joust, Robotron and Defender as games that defined Williams.
Congrats!!

A guy I know called me about a week ago, and said he had two arcade games that he wanted to sell me. So the price was right, and I went over to pick them up. He found them at a yard sale, and he's more into pins, but everything was so cheap he picked it all up. The game he wanted was a BK2000 just like above, said it worked and the woman wanted $100 bucks for it!

Unbelievable, lol. I imagine you didn't get it quite that cheap, but yours looks like it's in great shape to me. Nice find!

congrats greg on the new pin!

wow, you are having a great week my friend .... first the pacmania and now the black knight 2000. i love that backglass on that pin, looks to be in beautiful condition too. bravo man :) chris

Nice! That's super clean, looks to be in great shape. Any issues with the playfield?

Nothing too major!

-Mylar's in pretty good shape, but still got a little beating where the ball drops from the upper playfield
-A little wear trail in the kickback lane...some text on the inserts worn there. There are repro decals made for that!
-A little wear on the Magna-Save ...again, there's a decal made to cover that.

I'm still gonna tear it apart, give it a real shop job - touch up the wear, replace the broken plastics, put white rubber on it...maybe freeze off the mylar and put on a fresh new sheet. The only real technical thing wrong I've found so far is the left flipper is super weak...it has the wrong EOS switch w/ a big yellow diode on it....that's probably what's causing the problem.

Congrats, that's a great game and looks like it's in nice condition! Do tell what the price was. :)

700 bucks! Yeah, way more than vids usually cost...but cheap for a pin! :)

HOLY SHIIIIIT! That's amazing...The cheapest pins I've gotten were my first - BttF for $300, and a dirty as hell Big Guns at a garage sale for $325.

There are two small wear spots on the backglass...on the blue border on the right side. I'm thinking I might be able to touch it up...in any case, it's not too noticable...I've seen worse on mirrored backglasses!

That is one hell of a deal!!!!! I just played a Bk2000 earlier this year at a pin show and he wanted almost 2k for his! Did it have the topper with yours? This a cool pin but my problem is that all the action is on the upper playfield and the lower is pretty much useless. Congrats Rare!!!! I bet there was alot of phonecalls after that thing was posted!

Sorry to tell you, but that game isn't all that, and to top it all off, that one looks to be really damaged bad.

Tell you what, you should just bring it to me, and I take it off your hands for you...you don't need the headache of a sub standard broken pin do you? Yep, just bring it out here to PA, and I'll save you some hassle!

Seriously, bad ass machine. Great score!

Just a side note for BK pin fans: The Wii console has an awesome pin collection, Williams Hall of Fame, with great physics and controls (you can hold a controller in each hand and spread them apart pinball-width, and push either or both hands forward for corresponding nudges of the cabinet).

But the kicker for BK is (besides the *excellent* illustrated walkthrough of features and scoring shots for each game), is that each game has 2 sets of game-specific goals to achieve. If you get them all on a game, you cna play in "mirror mode" where the entire playfield is switched left/right. Mirrored BK is one of my favorite games to play. In fact, I have played it so much that when I just looked at a pic of a real BK playfield, it looked "backwards" to me!

The WMS Pinball HoF is only around $20, which is an absolute steal for the 10 or so games and the quality. It really feels like playing pinball (although some shots are a bit easier than in rl, e.g. some ramp shots). Other games on it include Funhouse, Whirlwind, Gorgar etc.
