A former operator friend of mine has a Megatouch Maxx Crown I have been trying to get as my Maxx is presently not working. I stopped by his bar and he tried to find it but to no avail. Dug through the garage and almost everywhere he could think of. Back at the bar after not finding it we were talking about my work and he suddenly said "I forgot you worked on appliances, my dryer doesn't work". I thought "here we go". I ended up looking at the dryer and came home with a giant pile of Megatouches. Most are missing boards and power supplies but all the monitors are complete. I have done some testing but not a whole lot so far. This is the biggest haul I have had in a very long time. Best part is all it cost was working on a dryer for 20 minutes.

There are 3 Megatouch bodies, something that looks like a Uwink or Midway Infinity and a JVL Concorde 2 upright. The Uwink looking thing has a PCB, hard drive and power supply but the neck board on the monitor is off and the neck pins are a little bent but the tube looks ok. There is no back piece to the cabinet. The Concorde 2 is the most promising. The monitor seems to work but made some snapping and popping noises. I didn't check the suction cup or anything else on it yet. The PCB is a wierd little board with PC ISA slots on it but that is all. All of the regular PC stuff like the RAM slots are on the 2 ISA cards. It seems to boot like a PC. Unfortunately, the CD is missing from the CD ROM drive and it gives some error code about that. Otherwise it would probably work. Its complete but I am not sure what to do with it yet. I have never built a MAME cabinet so that could maybe happen but I don't really know how to do that. There also are two disembodied monitors that look complete but the touchscreen on one is cracked.

So right now, I have a giant pile of stuff that I don't know exactly what to do with yet. The wife recently said something about how I need something to tinker with. I told her to be careful what she wishes for. I sure miss game runs. There are a lot of fun. With luck the guy will be able to find the Megatouch Maxx Crown and I will be able to get it. In the mean time, I have a pile of stuff to go through.

Sorry about the links, I had trouble uploading pics.

Messed around with the Concorde 2 some more. The monitor seems to probably be ok. Turned down the brightness and screen and it quit making wierd noises. Still may be problematic but I will run it for several hours on my day off tomorrow. The DBA and coin mech work. The game PCB has a custom power supply I haven't seem before. Just something to mess with.

Yeah, if I can get a copy of that disc that would be really great. I had thought that maybe it had got into the bottom of the machine somehow but you can't get in there to see anything. At least, not without disassembling the cabinet. I was thinking of possibly MAMEing the cabinet or turning it into a sit at PC to play my older PC games on. It would also work as a Windows Media Player jukebox. However, if I can get the disc, it might have some fun games on it.

Finally got some pics uploaded. I had touble with the file size. I used to be much better with computers and editing pics. Damn Windows 7 anyway.
