It just needs a fuse... I swear, nothing more

Even better ones are when it is a vague ad in the first place and you call them and they say "It doesn't work but it only needs the connectors cleaned, I have done this every time and it works afterwords" and yet you do not do it this time hmmmm I think not. Last set of games I went and seen and bought just because it was cheap, 2 dead altogether and one needed a power switch. At least he did not want a grand for them :)

It doesn't piss me off when I see them,it just makes me chuckle and say "good luck with that."This kind of stuff is so rampant I would figure everyone would be at least somewhat desensitized from getting pissed about it.

I remember picking-up a Xevious from an operator years ago and it really was just a fuse. It was fixed in five minutes. Admittedly, the fuse was pretty obvious seeing the whole game wouldn't power-up.

A buddy bought a Wizard or Wor mini (that is now mine) years ago from another collector who said the game works 100%, except for the power supply. He didn't have a working switcher to put in it so it was dead, but my buddy bought it from the fellow anyway. He took it home, installed and switcher, and it has worked 100% ever since. I had my doubts, but the collector was telling the truth.

I have known sellers to put known bad monitors into games just so that it i a "complete game". One of the games just had the monitor sitting in it without being secured. When the game was tipped backward for moving, the monitor slid back and the tube neck was broken.

I went to look at two games one time. The guy didn't say if they were working. He did say that they were Defender and Stargate cabinets. Once, perhaps. They were both painted over and one had water damage. One was E-Swat the other was Final Fight. The E-Swat worked but had red gun short in the monitor. The Final Fight's monitor had the chasis present but was all disconnected from the tube. The game PCB was laying in the bottom of the cabinet. Neither one was worth the 15 minute drive. I don't remember how much he wanted but it was a complete waste of time.

Too many sour grapes for everyone here??
I've gotten my share of good deals off CL and even Feebay...

Why all the hate for this dude, he can try to sell what he wants for how much he wants.
I don't think he can pull the cash from your pockets by listing an ad.

Yea, it's a POS, and to the non-arcade hobby folks, maybe a fuse or something sounds good... Hell for that game a PCB isn't much more than a fuse??? :D
Course it could just be the 5v is off and it's just the turn of a knob on the switcher....

Ah well...

Well,it is "moronically priced". Sure the person can sell it for what they want, but the main issue is that this guy is being deceptive.

It's kind of like a used car salesman trying to sell you a car that's not running by saying it just needs a spark plug while knowing that the engine block is cracked.

I have had two instances where a game refused to power up on delivery. And both times, it was just the fuse (once broke/blown, once disodged). I cringed when I told the buyer to check the fuses, but they ended up being the case.

And... It's probably not just a fuse... It could be a burned out monitor bulb! And those are a few bucks, not just an inexpensive fuse!!!

Maybe it just needs some Tube fluid.

Email the idiot and ask him how you'll get a new fuse since "they don't make these anymore" ?????

Email him and tell him you will pay him his asking price, plus $100 if he replaces the fuse for you, which just happens to be located under the suction cup...

And the machine needs to be ON so he can see the old fuse under the suction cup, which is lit up by the monitor bulb...

I think his keyboard needs a fuse replaced. It's obviously adding an erroneous 0 every time he types a number.

love it..

im in the middle of doing a power surge repair job for a guy who was hoping it was just a fuse.

It isnt just a fuse lol

I love that one.
But a lot of poeple think it is a Light Bulb.
Thats when I tell them there is no bulb and tell them in a nice way it is a piece of Crap not worth nothing .
Score.

I turned on my Pac earlier today and only the monitor and marquee lamps fired up. Nothng on the screen. It actually was just a fuse. In fact, both of the fuses on the 7V AC supply were bad. It was my fault though, I put in the correct rating but didn't have any slow blow fuses. I put in fast acting ones instead. Oh, well, the ones I've got in it right now are wrong too but they should work fine.
