It is hideous and should be destroyed

Holy crap, that's thee most hideous MK I've ever seen. How in the world is there a bid...

That was on CL recently.

I'm impressed that something with a part-out value of maybe $100 fetched $250 and is still technically a video game.

Frankenstein's Monster.

We should form a village mob with pitchforks and torches, and storm the location. "Down with the Monster!"

Yeah, well, I found it first. :)

Here's the story (or at least some of it):

This game was in storage at the "Second Quarter" storage facility on 17-A in Summerville. Wanna know how I know? I saw it there. It was a working Op Thunderbolt, but had some graphics issues, mostly soldiers turning into solid squares. I think at one point I had a chance to buy it from Walker for around $50, but passed because I never really liked the game. Apparently, rather than having the board fixed, the "seller" plugged in the MK board, printed a MK logo on an ink jet, and put it on eBay.

Although it sucks knowing I could have flipped it for a profit, I at least still have my collector integrity intact for not making it into that... thing. Somewhere on the forums, there's a member with a sig that says "VAPS does not stand for Video Arcade Partout Society." Gotta preach the message to the Craigslist/eBay guy.

By the way, he's also got a non-working Turbo cockpit for $75 on eBay - or $50 on CL. Powers up, screen comes up, board puts out garbage. Another one I had a chance to get cheap but passed on.
