It is good to give thanks and praise (adding forum functionality)
We appear to use the same forum software as Unix.com. Here's a link:

One thing I hate about theirs is the embedded ads. Moderators, PLEASE DO NOT SUBJECT US TO THESE!!
One thing that I think is cool is the stat of "Thanks" in the upper corner of each posting (under the Posts:19). So, some people who give a ton of answers to tough problems (KenLayton is one that comes to mind) deserve to pile up some stats in the Thanks field. This also would help give us weighting when we get 2 differing pieces of advice.
Also, in theory, maybe some more people would chime in with help if they wanted the payoff of a +1 in the Thanks.
Yes, i know many people wouldn't care. You can't please everyone.
