I have a jamma harness and I have everything working on the game except for the coin counter.
Pins "J" and "8" on the harness supply the harness with the coin counter.
I hook up everything on the game and hit the coin switch on the coin door and nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

What game is it? Look on the board to find out if the coin counter is even supposed to be a working option for that board. Is there a trace even going to a circuit on the pcb?

It's a Splatterhouse board and yes there is a trace for it on pin 8.
Do I need a ground wire to finish the connection or possibly a 5V or 12V connection?

Not sure what the cabinet has to do with it.
I'm jammaing out a Gauntlet, but all of the wiring will be jamma.
Including the coin counter.
No Gauntlet wiring in it at all.

If you are reusing the original Gauntlet coin counter then we can ID the counter and what voltage it needs. If you have a new counter, purchased from Bob or Happ or someone else then you should already know what counter you have.

I am pretty sure the original coin counters that came wht Gauntlet are 10vdc units and will not work properly when supplied by the 5vdc Jamma standard.
