Hey, im rewiring an arcade machine and was wondering if i should keep the isolation transformer or do I not have to use it?

99% (not exact) of monitors need an ISO. Never ever plug it into direct 120v without being sure. If you believe you have one of the few monitors that doesn't require one, then consult the manual for the monitor. Monitor manuals are available in .pdf on a lot of websites. The best rule of thumb is: If your current monitor is plugged into one, then it requires one.

Without the iso, it is possible under the right circumstances for the chassis of the monitor to become charged. If the chassis was touched while your body had a path to ground, you could have a pretty bad day. You have made a safe choice.Alright i guess ill try and squeeze it in then.
