So I gutted my cab (Ms. Pac cabaret) last night so I can go thru it and clean it up. Im going to soak all the wiring to get all the dirt off of it but what is the best way to clean the tranformers and all that at the bottom of the cab. Do I just spray Simple Green or something like that onto a rag and just wipe it down.

Compressed air or vacuum cleaner and a 1" bristled paint brush to knock the dust off. Transformers do not like moisture and will rust very easily.

I redid my Moon Patrol one recently. I used a rag with small amounts of Simple Green to clean the paper wrapping, some sandpaper to get the rust off of the transformer block and new paint, cut all the cable ties and used Simple Green on a rag to clean each individual wire then retied them, polished up the metal and bolts, replaced a few connectors that were burnt or bad, repainted the wood base, put it all back together -

and I went from this:

I still need to put the new line cord on and reproduce the voltage warning stickers to get it back to original, but so far so good...

Necro bump here:

Have some nasty power supplies that I would love to get looking like new.

Any more tricks/tips that y'all have used.

Thanks in advance.
