Isolating heater voltage? - pics?

Any reason why this would not work with a 6100?
Isolating the heater coil that is.

I have a tube that has decided to short it's self out. Rejuvenator only produces a light show, shorts won't go away.

Can someone help me understand what isolating the heater does electrically? If I understand it correctly, an H-K short causes the heater current to improperly energizing a color gun. What does isolating the heater from the rest of the chassis do? It would still seem that the gun would be improperly energized.

Here is my video of the neck in a 6100 putting out a nice light show while hooked up to a rejuvinator.

I am pretty sure that the heater is shorting to the cathodes. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Apologies for the monotone, I am trying my hardest to not sound like OMGBBQWTF+!!!!!1111 :)

That's a similar light you get when a tube is cracked and lost it's vacuum. (typically much noisier though)
Do you get the same light show hooked to the game?

If you think it's just a short, try clearing it with the rejuvinator.

Same thing but brighter when hooked up to a game. Rejuvinator will not clear it out :(

Not sure how it could have been cracked, it worked last week. I hear moisture will make spots inside a cracked tube eventually. I guess I will just keep an eye out. For now I put a spare into action.

Thanks for the reply!
