i am trying to set up my pattern generator that i got at the warehouse raid. i created a harness and hooked up the ac lines to the iso transformer.. I have 120v up to the iso, but only 25v after.. it wont even power up the monitor (which i have since disconnected until my readings are correct).

i used two isos and am getting the same readings.. they were pulled from working machines.. i dont think i got it backwards because i followed the same wiring..

Are you certain they are 1:1 iso's ?
Throw a pic of one up here for us....
Should be straight forward two lines in (primary), two lines out (secondary).

i think one of them (the larger one)was from a merit cabinet which was converted to a golf game... the other i cannot remember where i got it, but i believe that it was from a Silk Worm Jamma game..

You are not trying to power these transformer _from_ the pattern generator are you?

Yes, I was. But based on your question, I take it that I should not be.
I thought that the AC outs on the pattern generator was to power the monitor (after being routed through the ISO).

But if I am to power the ISO independently and then the monitor, what are the AC outs on the generator for?

Edit: i just looked at the manual again and must've missed the part where it said that the AC outputs were non-isolated (which i did know) but i missed the part stating that they were for B/W monitors.

The AC outs from the pattern generator are for directly powering black and white monitors only.

You should be powering an isolation transformer seperately.
