My wife loves skee ball, and this would make a great 5 year anniversary present. (She loved the Galaga machine she got for Christmas)
I'm in southern Indiana, and I've been watching ebay. There is a machine just outside of Chicago, but his reserve is almost $2,000 (found this out after speaking w/ him via email). Others are just too far away to pay the freight cost.
There are a couple of local vendors in Louisville, KY who carry all types of machines, but no skee ball (that I've found yet).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
** Update 2010-06-30 ==> Found a great machine, and it was only three hours away. I enjoyed watching my wife go nuts on the way down trying to figure out what we were doing. All I told her was to pack a lunch because we were going to be on the road for a while. The machine was set up and running when we pulled up. It was a good surprise.
My seller (Chris) showed me how everything works, and we disassembled it together. He even tossed in some extra switches and helped me load it onto the trailer. Really nice guy. Got it home without incident, set it up, plugged it in ... zilch. No power. I'm sure it's just a broken fuse or a loose connector, but I was too tired to start troubleshooting. This should be an easy fix. One thing I noticed is that every single stand-off on the scoreboard PCB is broken, and the display looks like it's been held up with duck tape for years. It also looks like most of the bulb sockets are toast. I need to track down the "police siren" lamp assembly on the top of the score board, if anyone has one to unload.
The metal plates on this machine read:
Skee Ball Inc
Model: SBC-1-13-SP31B
Serial: 9501
