I have a NEOTEC NT-500 27" monitor and I am unable to find a manual but I'll assume this needs an ISO right?

The lable on the neckboard cover states 100- 240VAC 2A

Only ISO I have is on a Crystal Castles power supply - otherwise does Radishack carry anything I can use?

Caddy's right, that is not a sufficient transformer. However, I don't know that you need one for your monitor. Can you post a pic of the chassis?

Is that large transformer in the center of your third pic labeled T101? If so I believe this is a board mounted isolation transformer and no external transformer is needed.

Does this drawing match the chassis?

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Monitors/Neotec%20NT-27E.pdf

The item with the yellow sticker on it (bottom side of PCB) is labeled T501

http://www.arachnidinc.com/support/blackwidow/neotech.pdf <-- not my model number but a reference
T501 is listed as a Horz Drive Transformer
Is that what you're looking for?

OK.

Also, ignore my last post. T601 is the flyback. I didn't look at it correctly the first time.

To be safe you should use an isolation transformer.

Damnit I don't have one - was hoping to find out I didn't need one. If it helps this came out of a Big Buck Hunter the OP told me. Also every monitor I've seen to date that has a 3 prong molex connector for power has not needed an iso. thoughts?

I agree that the three prong power connectors don't usually need an iso. However, without a schematic, or the ability to trace the circuitry, you can't be certain.

Just wanted to tell everyone thank you for your help.

What's really cool about this story is I fixed a vector monitor for a local OP charging him $100. I stopped in tonight to see if he had any tri-res monitors for my MAME machine as I've been running a 27" TV and hated it.

He told me the monitor probably wouldn't work and would need to be fixed. So in essence I spent $50 for the vector parts - charged him $100, he gave me the this 27" Tri-res monitor. I'd say it was a good day ;)

Thanks again!

That monitor does not need an isolation transformer.
