iScored game room score tracker

With the QR code feature, my thought is to have the QR code on the game and then simply scan the code with your phone and enter the score. It works great. That way the TV is only used for display.

I think to do this right, I need a touch screen. I bet they can be had for cheap. Having it up on the wall high in a TV using a pc to work with it just seems cumbersome when it goes live... Hmmm...
I use the QR code feature and an iPad that plays to a screen I have on top of a Nintendo cab. Both work well.

But Uncle Tighy posted this ages ago and I didn't know this was even a thing but if you have a TV and want it to be a touchscreen. Don't know if it's cheaper than a touchscreen monitor or not:
Just thinking that a black friday 52" TV and one of these would be pretty awesome

I print stickers with QR codes. It sends me an email to approve, then it appears on the leader board wherever I want to display it. Easy-peasy.

So you would print the QR code... stick it on the games marquee (or wherever)... then scan it to add your score....

Then anyone with a phone could scan/add a score without needing a centralized input 'station' of sorts?

Hmm.... I hate cell phones but I'm the only one... so it would be easier for everyone else... I'd just have to use one of the many phones we have laying around here as a dedicated one for the gameroom or something.

Two things.

#1 How do I do the wins/losses? Can't seem to find it in the instructions or settings.

The second is display ideas. I thought about the QR code, but we try to encourage/distract everyone away from the phones, so I'm voting not to do that. I've seen some big screen touch displays, but if I do that, it's going to take up one of my last free areas of wall space. If I do a keyboard and touchpad/mouse, then I'll need ro mount it or something. Anyway I really like it, just trying to brainstorm if and how we would use it. I think when the kids get older, having something like this established for their friends to use would be wonderful. However we already use a marker board for tracking some of the main games which regulars will use. I don't know if people would put their scores on both... hate to lose some of the fun old school ways of keeping scores.

Totally get it for sure but iScored is the best option I've landed on so far. However I really like the old ways too 😀!

I just shared my first. There wasn't an Up'n Down so now there is...

I'll be adding more surely. I am finding it easiest to add games as I make high scores, etc.

That's great! I emailed the iScored developer and he informed me we could share scores using a Discord server (I'm not very familiar but I know it seems popular these days) or API calls. I'm a developer and I think I could make the API calls work. There's basically a GET and a POST to read and write scores. I really think it would be super cool to share scores. I also think the original idea of creating a new iScored site and sharing the QR codes would work as well.

Various friends and I use it too, it's pretty great! One put QR codes on each game, another had them posted on the wall, another had them printed out in a stack on the bar, so you'd go sit down and enter some scores and pics.

If you trust your friends, you can just let them click on the game name and enter the score, too. (no QR needed)
